I just returned from my first trip to South Africa. I traveled with a group of 6 other women from the US. We had the priviledge of staying at the Jubilane Guesthouse in Johannesburg. Erin the Manager was truly delightful. She and her staff went out of their way to insure that our stay was a memorable one. The breakfasts were delicious. There was something to accomodate everyone taste. The breakfast began with an assortment of cereals, juices and yogurt and ended with a hot entree. The rooms were spacious and airy. Each of our rooms had a full bathroom. My room had a patio off of it which allowed us to sit out in the morning and have a cup of tea or read before breakfast. The grounds were beautiful with a tennis court and a pool. In the evening when we returned from a day of exploring and shopping we were greeted by Erin and or a staff member and offered a cup of tea. We ate several full meals at the house that Erin and staff prepared that were very good. Overall, my trip to South Africa was my best "holiday" ever. I would recommend the guesthouse to anyone visiting Johannesburg wanting a more personal experiece than is usually provided at a hotel.
