I would like to state that I would like to give the restaurant actually 4,5 out of 5, but as the rating system above doesn't allow me, I have indicated it as 4.
Our birthday lunch at the Restaurant Mosaic was truly memorable. We got a private dining room with a beautiful view, and once seated Chantel explained the whole menu to us and answered all our questions. We opted to go for the wine with the massive menu, as it is not at all more expensive like in Cape Town restaurants.
I cannot go into detail about all 8 courses, but what I can say is that the dishes are a feast for the senses. The presentation of the dishes is truly remarkable, innovative and beautiful. The tastes of most of the dishes are also exemplary. There were 2 of our party that felt that there were just 1 or 2 things that could’ve been changed with their mains, but it didn’t deter from the wonderful experience. There were also some wine pairings that was a bit strange to us, as we are wine drinkers and know our wines pretty well. The pairing of the wines with the food was perfect, but the wine alone was not that great. We just thought this was a bit funny, although it was French wines. But I have to say that we did enjoy our lunch there completely, and that it’s extremely good value for money. The chef even presented the birthday lady with a small chocolate mousse cake to take away. Pure indulgence.
Therefore, it’s because of these small things that I can’t give it 5 out of 5, but saying that, I will definitely recommend everyone to go there for lunch or dinner, as the food is extremely good and the restaurant itself is also beautiful, quirky and plush.
We will definitely be back again!
