Arrived late and there was no response to the intercom on one side of the street and tried the other with same result. Guard appeared after a while to let someone out then opened for me. Got soaked in the rain getting my cases to reception. Not a good start to my short stay.

Our one night stay in October, 2014 was booked by our tour company, and proved to be a fine choice. Our room, #46, was located on the ground floor, quite near the parking area. We were concerned about noise, but found it to be no problem. The layout of this suite is strange, with a table and chairs partially blocking the entry way. The room itself consisted of very comfortable beds, a lovely sitting area, and a large bathroom with a separate shower and tub. The hotel is in a garden-type setting, which is lovely. However, the pool is tiny!!

I stayed at this hotel as part of a tour of SA, therefore this hotel wasn't of my choice but I would happily stay there again. A lovely little hotel, my room was huge with a very comfy bed. Only complaints re the room is that there was no shower attachment on the wall so I had to hold the shower hose above me to shower - apparently the other rooms did have this. I also couldn't find the international plug in the room and had to use the shaver plug in the bathroom to charge my phone etc. Other people in my group found the plug at by the tv near the bottom of the wall. There is a choice of buffet or a la carte menu, we had a la carte and my lamb chops were overcooked, however overall the food was nice. We were also treated to wine tasting and a tour of their wine cellar which was unexpected. There is a small very reasonably priced gift shop, however I wasn't too impressed that they didn't have any bubble wrap to wrap my porcelain gift. All in all a nice hotel.

Thank you for your review of Court Classique Suite Hotel on Trip Advisor. We are very pleased that you found the hotel to your liking, but apologise sincerely that your lamb chops were not done to your taste on the occasion of your dinner.

Our underground cellar is indeed a lovely spot for wine tasting and we are happy that we were able to accommodate this for your group.

We hope that we might have the opportunity to host you again in the future.

We stayed for two nights and enjoyed the suite arrangement and the intimate, quirky layout of the whole site. We appreciated the quality of the cooking; our steaks were the best we had in our two-week stay in SA. Dinner service was slow on one occasion because of a large party; the second evening it was prompt and efficient, and as mostly in the hotel, friendly and welcoming. We were disappointed with the buffet breakfast provided; the first day the staff were slow to replenish empty dishes, and the staff seemed more intent on checking cutlery than seeing to the needs of guests. I was surprised to have to ask for toast, surely not such an unusual requirement, usually a toaster is provided for the use of guests. Compared to the other hotels we stayed in on this trip - a Radisson in Jo'burg, two Proteas, a Garden Court, and the modest Royal Country Inn at Dundee, KZN, I regret the C C's breakfast came a poor sixth. An area to look at, I think.

Room tip: Any should be ok. We were one of nearest to main road, no problems.

Dear John C,

Thank you for taking the time to review the Court Classique Suite Hotel on Trip Advisor. We value guest feedback and use it in both our day to day Operational- and monthly staff meetings to advise our staff on areas to improve. We also share compliments and praise with them, as we might receive through our various feedback channels, which in turn inspires them to deliver even better service.

We apologise that the breakfast buffet was not up to standard during your stay. This event will be addressed with the team at Orange restaurant during our meetings this week. We have a new menu in place and although we are delighted to hear that you steak and other meals met or exceeded your expectations, breakfast should not be waning in any way.

We are however pleased to be measured in such esteemed company as the other properties you have stayed at during you visit and we are thankful to have impressed on other fronts.

Your feedback is valued and we hope you might stay with us again in the not too distant future.

Classique regards
From all of us here at the Court Classique Suite Hotel, Pretoria

Our family of four stayed just one night prior to getting the Rovos Rail train to the Victoria Falls. The hotel was adequate for one night, but didn't excite in any way. The rooms are OK, but the bathrooms in need of updating. Service in the restaurant was poor - the food was good and of very generous portions - but the staff were obviously trying to avoid catching the eye and were offhand when it was pointed out that one dish had been delivered minus the vegetables stated on the menu as included. Service was very slow as priority was being given to a business party elsewhere in the restaurant. Underwhelmed.
