We stayed 4 nights in Plains Camp and 1 night in the main lodge. If you like peace, tranquility, a beautiful setting and game walks this is the place for you. The camp accommodates 8 people so it's very small and personal. The camp has the feel of an old English explorer with its big chairs under canvass, wooden chests and old artifacts. After the morning bush walk we would sit out with a beer from the complementary cooler reading and watching the game come and go from the water hole.

The tents are very luxurious with large beds, a shower built into a tree and a toilet.

The food was very very good; just slightly simpler food than that in the main lodge but this is a camp after all!

Our ranger was Bernard, he was good at finding the game due to his extensive knowledge of the area, he's also a great guy, very funny.

Don't expect to see as much game on foot as on the game drives, Kruger is vast and you'll only cover about 5 - 6 miles on a walk compared to up to 40 - 50 on a game drive. However the experience walking in the bush is exponentially better than sitting in a vehicle; and when you do come across something big its an experience you'll remember for the rest of your life. We found Rhino and they ran towards us so we had to jump behind a bush. It was very scary but safe so long as you follow the rangers instructions. i,e don't run, everything in the bush is faster than you!

If the timings are right you'll get the opportunity to go to the sleep out, about 1.5 - 2 hrs walk. Ask for the outer tent canvas to be pulled back so you can go to sleep looking at the trillions of stars in the nights sky. The sleep out is obviously a lot more basic but great fun, you'll need to carry your tooth brush and something to sleep in with you, A leopard walked by when we were there :)

Room tip: There are only 4 tents, nicely spaced out, each are equally good

We had a great 2 days at the camp and really enjoyed sleeping under canvas in the luxury tents. You have everything you need and we loved the mix of game drives and the morning walks which were expertly guided by the team. This is a must do if you want something a little different and I cannot recommend highly enough...thanks

We had a wonderful couple of nights over New Year's eve with amazing animal sightings and with special effort by the lodge management and staff, spoils and surprises to welcome in the new year. Special sightings were black rhino, lion, bataleur eagle enjoying a bath, pack of around 21 wild dog around the vehicle, sunset drive to watch 2013 hit the horizon. Rhino Post is a very comfortable game lodge offering a private bush experience in the Kruger National Park. Spacious comfortable rooms overlook the sandy river bed and a waterhole attracts animals on an ever-changing landscape.

Room tip: Spoil yourself at Plains Camp and the sleep over in the bush. All Rhino Post rooms are equally good.

I stayed for 4 nights at this magnificent lodge and my only complaint would be it just wasn't long enough! The staff were friendly and helpful and the food and wine were also very good.
Both Colin, Joey and Bernard were excellent game drivers and were clearly very passionate about what they do and also got excited with us when they spotted some of those hard to find animals. (Eg. Honey badgers!) They provided us with lots of information about the animals we saw. I loved it when we would suddenly stop to identify tracks of an animal on the side of the road they had spotted or to pick up the tortoise crossing the road to make sure he safely gets to the other side. I admire the great respect they had of the animals and the environment they live in.

I liked that the focus of the day was around the early morning and afternoon game drives as that's what we were there for.

Although this has been my first safari, based on my experience I would definitely recommend it.
