We have just returned from a week at the Graden Court in Cape Town. The hotel is magnificent and we have never experienced such incredible service before. Everyone was so friendly and went out of their way to help! Fantastic service from every member of staff!

Our room was very big and had 2 double beds, a gorgeous and very clean bathroom and TV. The room was cleaned every day and we were given new towels every day.

Breakfast was out of this world! We were just expecting a few nibbles but breakfast is a lovely continental spread with cheeses, fruit pastries, cereals, all sorts of fruit and of course the typical English style hot breakfast. Eggs were cooked infront of you to your liking - never witnessed this before! I definitely recommend the orange juice - so refreshing!

The pool is not too big but it's lovely. The pool attendants were wonderful, laying out towels per sun lounger.

Overall, I would say this is probably the best hotel we have ever stayed in on holiday and I am extremely fussy! I think it was in an ideal location as it's away from the hustle and bustle of the traffic near the V & A Waterfront but only 5 mins away by car.

“Good business hotel”

This is a good business hotel, small pool and garden area with good views over the harbour. The hotel is about 20 minutes from the airport and about 5 minutes from the waterfront.

As the hotel is above the town it can get quite windy and as I was on the top floor the door to the balcony rattled a bit.

The room was large and clean and I paid about 700 R a night.

The hotel shuttle bus was very good and delivered me to the Waterfront and home very efficiently.

In short a good business hotel, however I wouldn't recommend it for a family.

“Best Value Name Brand Proper Hotel in Cape Town****”

Garden Court Eastern Boulevard

We (wife, toddler and myself) needed a hotel for an overnight stay and we contacted several hotels by telephone and the prices were just unbelievabley high for a last minute booking and considering that Nov 11 is just barely into high season-there are a lot of empty rooms around but no one seems to be budging on price. Anyway back to this hotel and on this night is quite full due to conferences in Cape Town but the price we were quoted was exactly half of any of the competition. What a nice surprise!!
The location of the hotel is stunning. It overlooks the working harbour and the mountain. Many more expensive hotels offer far less of a view than this!!
Okay we were not expecting 5 star but we wanted to be comfortable and clean- and this hotel delivered.
We were offered a non smoking room and despite smelling of air freshner, the beds were very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and everything was inoffensive. The sliding doors offer nice juliet balcony access and when closed they mute the sound of traffic.
We paid eight hundred odd rand for a room with double queen beds but we declined breakfast options because at eighty rand a head for full english breakfast it was a bit steep. Coffee making facilities are provided in room. There is room service and it's reasonably priced and I couldn't find any vending machines on the 2nd floor - even though these were advertised.

This hotel must be the only brand name 4 star hotel in Cape Town which is under a thousand rands per night high season and it seemed very popular with businesspeople. It's close to all attractions and the waterfront (5 -10 mins by car)

If we had to stay a night or two and did not want to pay less for a Bed and breakfast or a Guest house- but wanted a proper branded hotel- This is our only option in Cape Town.

We would visit again.

We arrived at 10.30pm for an overnight stay, having just flown in to Cape Town and prior to leaving for a tour of the Western Cape the following day. Despite having paid for our rooms (2 doubles) and having confirmation and vouchers to prove such, they claim they had no reservation ( only a mispelt name in a cancelled booking!?) After nearly one hour with four or five reception staff fiddling with the computer and no joy, we asked if they had vacant rooms and simply booked and paid for (again!) two rooms. After a long flight (a delayed bag, still in Amsterdam) and no beds for the night initially - we asked the way to the bar and for food service only to find this ceased at 11pm!
The rooms were clean and spacious and the bathroom clean. Breakfast the following morning was superb - an excellent choice and wonderful quality. Although the waiting on staff were slow to clear used tables for other guests to utilise.
On checking out we requested taxis to our car hire depot and by some wonderful mismanagement by the porters found ourselves (4 adults, three large suitcases and various smaller hand baggage) piled into a mid-size saloon, whilst two other travellers with no baggage took seats in a 7/8 seater mini bus!!!
Several hours later, we heard via our travel agent, to whom we had complained that the Hotel, had now "found" our booking and were refunding the credit card with the amount we had additionally paid. Two weeks later the card has yet to be refunded..........
The location seemed out of the way for tourists, but as were thankfully were not there for long, it mattered not.
Having stayed at three other Hotels during our stay - find the Garden Court by far the most inefficient and would not consider staying again.

Was here for a week with a conference group. Rooms were very nice, clean, and good sized. The conference facilities were good and well organized and friendly. Location is not the best for tourists, since you can't walk anywhere, although the hotel shuttle works well enough and it is easy to call a taxi. The front desk was the only real negative, as they were generally slow and disinterested. Restaurant and bellhop staff were friendly and helpful, and made a good recommendation for a restaurant nearby. Oh, only other negative was the pick-up from the airport, as for a number of our conference arrivals the cars sent were late or forgot. Good value overall, though.
