We spent three nights at the Protea North Wharf during our honeymoon trip to Capetown. Firstly it is easy to locate from the Airport and has a secure underground carpark. We were checked in by helpful staff and bags carried to our room. The rooms are apartment style ,this includes a ful kitchen and good sized bathroom. The lounge area was huge with a good view over the square in from of the hotel. The rooms were tasteful and house keeping were also really good. We only ate once at the resturant in the evening but this was really reasonable and the food was lovely. Our booking was for B&B , this was also really good.. Breakfast was buffet style and included an egg bar where you could choose from scrambled or omlette etc.
There is a pool area with sun loungers on the top floor. Overall we found this a really pleasant hotel and only 10 minutes walk from the V&A and a 5 minute drive from the Table Mountain. Opposite the hotel is a nice Italian resturant and sushi bar. We would certainly recommend this hotel to others who are staying in Capetown for the first time.

I was attending a convention at the Convention Center and chose this property as one of those offered by the organizer. It was a fantastic choice. We had a full apartment with living/dining room, full kitchen, washer/dryer, bedroom, and full bath. The unit was immaculate and the staff could not have been more accomodating. The breakfast was served in a lovely area and was as complete an offer as I have found anywhere--including cooked to order items.
All of this at a rate cheaper than surrounding hotels with much smaller rooms. Truly a find--convenient to the Wharf and other areas as well.

The hotel is in the central business district and accessible to the tourist sites. The rooms are vast - 85 sqm - with a large sofa and TV, dining table for 4, washing machine, cooker, fridge/freezer, etc, plus an enormous and very comfortable bed, and a bathroom with separate shower and bath. Big balcony. Breakfast is very good, apart from coffee, but that's rubbish everywhere in Cape Town. Nice comfortable smell to the place, and nice and quiet. No pedestrian access after dark, but that's standard there because of mugging threats. All for about £70 a night - really good value. And they provide plug adaptors for the old fashioned SA sockets.

This is a great hotel. The flight arrived early morning and the hotel arranged the transfer and allowed us straight into the room even though it 9am (normal checkin 2pm) The room, or appartment, was huge with two large bedrooms, big kitchen area, large lounge dining area and two bathrooms all furnished to a high standard.
This hotel is in the business district and is right behind the Holiday Inn. The Waterfront area (great for shops and restuarants) is walkable but better option is to take the Shuttle Bus from the Holiday Inn which goes every 30 mins. For non Holiday Inn guests they charge 20 Rand return trip for adults and kids are free. At the time we were staying there was a lot of building work going on around the hotel but we were not distrubed.
The buffet breakfast in the hotel was good with a full range of hot and cold items and is served upto 10:30am. We didn't eat there in the evening but there are two restuarants just outside the hotel a Sushi bar (we did not try) and an Italian which was excellent and we strongly recommend. The Italian also has a take away so you always bring the pizza back to the room.
There is a small swimming pool on the roof but as we were there in winter we didn't use it.
Overall an excellent hotel with lots of space and well located. Booked at a bragin price through Expedia.
