Don't miss out if your staying in CT as Derwent House is a cool place to stay!!

From our initial reservation Jo and Carol were brilliant and helpful and nothing was ever a problem. Arrived on the Sunday after a hectic three week trip and our greeting, tour around the hotel and the glimpse of the pool just made us feel at home.

The room was ideal and with the view of the Table Mountain from our bed it made waking up all the more easier. Breakfast was spot on and the honesty bar, sweet treats, chilled music and loungers by the pool made leaving the hotel incredibly difficult.

Late check out was not a problem and again, all at the hotel bent over backwards to help out.

If a chilled few days is what you need then this is the place and if you are feeling like a bit of sightseeing then listen to the ladies as they know what they are talking about. We arrived and were told to get to Table Mountain as it was a great day. Thankfully we did as it was closed for the next two days.

When back in CT we will be back at Derwent House!!!

We booked at the Derwent House because we read the fantastic review on Trip Advisor. And boy were we lucky. This hotel was not only a gorgeous renovated heritage-type building but everything was done with such class. The staff couldnt do enough for us and they were so helpful with travel plans.

We went with our baby and they gave us a beautiful room with a kitchen and a balcony. They organised a campcot for us with all the linen and cot bumpers. The decor is so fabulous and really Afro-chic. The breakfasts were more than adequate and with the fruit, yoghurts and cereals, there were girls making eggs and omelettes in the kitchen to order.

It was quiet, in a funky area with lots of cafes and coffee shops and a 5 min drive to the waterfront and also very accessible over the Kloof Nek from Camps Bay and Clifton. Every night they would turn down our beds and leave a chocolate and a note with the weather report on our pillows - NICE TOUCH. I would definitely stay there again in a heart beat and would recommend for people looking for a restful quiet stay in Cape Town.

“Perfect Cape Town boutique hotel”

I can't rate this hotel highly enough - Carol and Jo have a fantastic attention to detail and nothing is too much trouble for them. The hotel is located near the foot of Table Mountain and has great views down to the sea.

The decor of the hotel is modern but inviting, the rooms are large and the beds are very comfy. Air-conditioning works really well and the breakfasts are excellent.

What really sets the place apart is the attitude of all the staff, Carol and Jo particularly. Everyone is extremely friendly without being obtrusive, which immediately makes you feel at ease and relaxed. We were interested in doing a wine tour and Carol and Jo organised the transport for the tour and gave us an itinerary recommending which wines to try at each vineyard.

The complimentary cakes and tea in the kitchen were just what we needed after a long day's sightseeing. There are some excellent restaurants in tne neighbourhood - Miller's Thumb is just round the corner and is great for fish lovers. Woolworths is a five minute walk away and is the SA equivalent of an M&S Simply Food.

Next time we are in Cape Town we would not even consider staying anywhere else, it is that good.
