Just returned from my 3rd stay in Oludeniz and had to comment on this hotel. The location is excellent and the cleanliness of the rooms was good however the majority of the rooms were covered in mould in the bathrooms, and could generally do with some decorating.
On arrival, after requesting rooms next to one another, we were put in rooms on seperate floors (the hotel has 46 rooms and at the time only 4 were occupied so couldn't understand why the request wasn't honoured). Managed to get moved the following morning after much fussing.
The staff (with the exception of the maid who was lovely) were not at all friendly, and did little or nothing to help.
The complex itself is extremely poorly lit at night, which resulted in my travelling companion falling down spiral steps and, as it turned out, fracturing an ankle, whilst the hotel manager and another member of staff looked on. They offered no assistance and watched as we struggled to carry suitcases after the accident.
Very very disappointed in the standards here especially in comparison to the other hotels and people within oludeniz. I would not stay here again.

I booked into the Mavi Belce after walking out of the hotel I had originally been booked with as they had overbooked and were also very rude. I selected the Mavi Belce at random and was pleasantly surprised at the helpfulness of the manageress and price of rooms. Okay they were rather shabby and badly needed refurbishing, but were clean and although I had a basement room the balcony opened onto the pool and garden area. Breakfast was adequate and much as to be expected in any mediterranean country. Sheets and towels were changed regularly. The shower did manage to flood the bathroom floor as there was no curtain, but so what?

I stayed here last September, and had a wonderful week. As other people have said, you get what you pay for, and this is a budget hotel where you don't mind if the water floods the bathroom because the shower doesn't have a curtain round it!! However, since last year, there has been a change in management, and an almost total change in staff. The remaining staff are obviously not happy, in fact when one was asked how long he'd been there, he replied 'This is my first, and last, year'. Some staff had walked out in previous weeks, leaving only a couple of youngsters 'manning the fort'. Although they may have been doing their best, it really wasn't good enough. There was rarely anybody serving at the pool bar, and even when going inside to the restaurant, there was sometimes a long wait before anybody appeared. The pool area was cleaned once in the nine days I was there, the sun lounger mattresses were left on the loungers in all weathers, and after some rain at night, were left covered in pools of water, and leaves. The plugs didn't fit the sink, the water kept up a constant stream from my tap because it needed a new washer, and there wasn't any hot water for about five days, leaving me to spend out money on having my hair blow dryed. I can cope with having a cold shower when the weather's hot, but not with washing my hair in it! When something went wrong with my window on the first day, I was told a technician would fix it - nine days later it still hadn't been fixed. There is no atmosphere because nobody eats there lunchtimes or evenings. I had lunch there twice, and ate completely on my own.

This could be a lovely hotel, and a real goldmine. It is very near to absolutely everything - mini supermarkets, shops, pubs, restaurants, and the lovely beach. I think the rooms are of a good size, and my cleaning lady was the same as last year - a lovely lady always with a smile on her face. If you can put up with the negative points above, and if they have any staff left next year, then book here - a lot of people won't be.

The hotel Mavi Belce was obviously once a lovely place to stay. This was confirmed by talking to people who had stayed there previously.I can only state how the hotel is now.
The rooms are small, very basic and the furniture has seen better days. The bathroom has the usual shower which if you are lucky you may get a shower curtain. They are cleaned by an outstanding lady who does a great job and always has a smile. That however is the best of the MaviBelce.
This hotel suffers from a lack of staff and with this the normal things you expect are not done. The pool bar is rarely manned and even more rarely cleaned. This also applies to the pool area and gardens which in our 11 day stay was never cleaned or attended to.
The games area has been left to decline and also could do with a good clean. The breakfast room/restaurant also suffers the same fate.
On the wider front many guests complained of no hot water for showers and the total lack of interest of the management to any problems they had. This hotel also suffers from noise from the nearby Shadows bar which plays loud music until 1 a.m.

BAD NEWS!!

In all fairness you do get what you pay for and I whole-heartedly agree with that, my main concerns lie with the management of the hotel itself. The main lady in particular was RUDE, UNHELPFUL, ANGRY and looked like she'd rather be any other place than there. Everybody has bad days agreed but in the hotel industry, dealing with customers whom have each paid money to stay in your establishment, it is totally unacceptable! On checking out we were aggresively told that we owed for our safety deposit box which had been paid for on arrival and for a bar tab and meal which had been paid for the night we had actually had them. Every little thing seemed an effort for the lady inquestion . She spoke in an angry tone and huffed and puffed her way around the desk. DISGUSTING!

On our arrival, we were led to a pitch black landing. On entering the room, which is totally basic, but as I said before you get what you pay for, we found out the balcony door would not lock, back at reception, the young lad who had checked us in told us we had to stay there as it was 'safe enough' and there were no other rooms. I find this hard to believe as the hotel was dead. We eventually fixed the door ourselves.

Other qualms include the lack of hot water, some nights it seems the boiler would not be turned on until, at latest, 7pm, meaning hot showers were impossible until 7.30- 8.00pm most nights. The toilet completely flooded when showering and I mean flooded. On stepping out of the shower you were still ankle deep in cold, murky water. The pool was lovely although no staff were on hand to serve. Considering the numerous notices around the hotel asking for food and drink not to be bought in from the outside, this was a bit of a cheek. When asked if we could keep our room on until 6pm on our day of departure, we were told, quite bluntly, 'No'! Again the fully booked excuse was used and there wasn't even another room we could use for a shower apparently. It's funny because after spending the last day by the pool we noticed no body moving in to our old room until 8PM with cleaners still on hand all day to mop the floor we would have dirtied due to bad plumbing if we had been allowed to keep the room on! No body really could be bothered at the hotel and it's such a shame as it could be such a lovely little place given a few minor structural improvements and a complete overhaul of staff. A sad additon to a below average break in Oludeniz.....What a mess!
