My three children (then 6, 4, 2) enjoy going here and playing with the toys and doing the activities. They definitely select toys that encourage children to use their minds and hands to manipulate the toys and learn while they do so. There were several different age appropriate spots...a Tot spot that my 2yo loved. My 6yo was very interested in the pendulum drawing tool and the microscope.
I love the vision the founder and board have for the museum. (Someday...they want to build their own children's museum.) I've wanted to volunteer more, but find it hard at this time in my life (I have 4 small children). It's small and cozy, but that can sometimes be a good thing. At least it's hard to lose your child in there!
We've only been there twice. One reason why is because their hours are so limited. When my child needs to nap in the middle of their few operating hours, it makes it hard for me to go there frequently. I do wish they were open earlier in the day. It's easier for me to get out mid morning and be back home by mid afternoon for naps. But last I checked, they opened at 1pm...right at naptime.
