First stay here for 5 nights in a basic 1BR suite and we generally enjoyed it. We are Westin-Starwood timeshare owners, and would rate this location slightly below our time spent previously at the Kierland villas in Scottsdale.

PROS
-friendly front desk staff
-clean modern room, efficient kitchen w/ full sized fridge & DW
-large pool and hot tub, gym small but in good shape and usable
-good access to freeway and fairly close to shops & restaurants (not quite as close as Westin Kierland however)
-wifi and cell worked just fine

CONS
-dark & smallish room on 2nd floor...had to setup luggage rack in living room
-patio faced parking lot and busy hayden rd despite booking early and asking for main floor and quiet spot. didnt want to lug bags back to lobby
-pushy concierge Helen to book timeshare presentation....we're already owners and after 2 flights and long drive from airport we just want to check in and relax dammit!

Room tip: away from Hayden Road!!

Dear GMROCKS,

Thank you for your detailed review about your recent stay at our property. We were glad to see that you overall enjoyed your time with us, but I do want to take a moment to apologize that the location of your villa fell short of your expectations. Our staff is usually very good at reviewing requests ahead of time and assigning villas accordingly, and I'm sorry that this didn't happen in your case.
I completely understand that you didn't feel like going through the trouble of changing rooms after a long day of traveling, but please know that you can always contact the front office team if you are unhappy with anything, and they will do their best to rectify the situation.
We hope to see you again sometime!
Warm regards,
Michelle

We usually stay at Kierland when we're in Scottsdale. This year we decided to try the Sheraton villa location. This property is much smaller, but provides has a convenient location and opportunities to relax at the pool or participate in some property activities.

The property was just updated earlier this year. The rooms now compare with the Westin rooms at Kierland. The only issue I had was with the kitchen cabinets, which are difficult to get to for a shorter person. Everything else was great and we enjoyed our week here with friendly people and lovely surroundings. It was extremely convenient to go out to meals or shopping. We will definitely come back to this location.

We have been going to Sheraton Desert Oasis for approximately 5 years. Traded through RCI and fell in love with the place. It seems to get better every year. Staff are wonderful and very helpful. The property is meticulous. The rooms have been upgraded and very comfortable. Very comfortable bed and quality bedding. Free internet that is very reliable. Close to highway and easy to get to all local attractions. We play lots of golf and many excellent courses in relative close proximity. Great restaurants and shopping nearby. We can't wait to go back.

Excellent resort. We stayed in a deluxe one bedroom with a full kitchen. The unit had a view of the mountains and we saw the beautiful sunrise each morning. The furnishings were very comfortable and eye appealing. It had all the amenities you will need. Free wifi. Great signature Frys market in less than 2 miles. We liked the location. Not far from hiking trails in Sonora Preserve. The magnifying mirror in the vanity area was really appreciated. Twin bowls were great. We cannot say enough good things about this resort. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The free form pool with waterfall was beautiful including the free form jacuzzi. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Chris in reservations was personable and very nice. We would definitely stay at this resort again.

Dear lov2skivail,

Aren't the mountains near the resort beautiful? You are right, they definitely make for amazing sunrises. So glad that you were able to enjoy them.

While on the topic of mountains, you mention that we are not far from the Sonoran Preserve. I'm happy you visited there! That is my personal favorite place for hiking in the area. There are so many great and scenic trails!

Overall, it sounds like you were really able to have a great time while staying with us. And I'll be sure to pass along the compliment to Chris. He really is an amazing associate!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review.

Warm regards,

Our stay at the Scottsdale Sheraton Desert Oasis was very pleasant. Scottsdale offers many recreational and entertainment opportunities, from major league baseball spring training, to nearby university and pro football, to marvelous shopping and restaurants, to historic old town, to the many fascinating sights in the desert. Grand Canyon can also be a day trip away.

The resort itself provides enjoyable pool and spa facilities. The large free form pool and spa are central to the property and are surrounded by adequate lounge chairs. There is a second smaller pool in a more remote portion of the property that seems to get much less use.

The units themselves were recently redone in updated styles. We stayed in a one bedroom lockoff. This was a bit unusual because the typical lockoff unit at most timeshares is a studio. The kitchen was very well equipped. On the downside, the unit is small. While it can house four guests, it would be very uncomfortable with four adults. There is not enough closet space or bathroom storage for two adults, let alone four. A family with two small children might get by.

Also, while the overall resort is very nicely landscaped, the buildings are close together giving a crowded feeling. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We did attend the semi-obligatory time share presentation. It did not last too long and was not high pressured. However, the representative made incorrect, negative statements about another timeshare company, one of the ones in which we are owners.

Another negative is the once a week “tidy service.” It consisted of emptying the trash and changing the bathroom linen. This is hardly adequate or acceptable for a high end resort. We have stayed in over 30 timeshares in 8 countries and this was the least maid service we have ever seen. At one in Cabo, they even did the dishes every day besides making beds, etc. In spite of the maid service, or lack of, we would certainly return to the Scottsdale Sheraton Desert Oasis.
