This resort has so many large palm trees and cactus. The grounds are beautiful. You can see the mountains in the distance. The courtyard has many fountains and fire pits to get warm in the evening. You should get a room overlooking the courtyard with a balcony. We stayed 3 nights and saw the birds of prey demonstration, Native American dancing and music in the lobby area. We had free margaritas at checkin and liked the SW restaurant where we had Hopknot beer and great squash chowder and shrimp tacos. The service was great. We took the free elliptical bikes for a ride around the outside of the property. The pool areas and hot tub are great. We loved the jeep excursion in the desert and learned a lot about the plants and animals. Saw mountain lion tracks and coyote tracks and learned about Saguaro cactus, creosote plants and Cowboy No Stinkem plants.
I would recommend renting a car and going to the MIM (Musical Instrument Museum) about 15 miles away. Also go to downtown Scottsdale for entertainment or the Handlebar J about 1 mile away for Cowboy bar music and dancing. Would also recommend the Botanical Museum and the Heard Museum. The most relaxing thing to do is just lie on the comfy lounge chairs by the pool and enjoy the birds, views and sky.More
