My husband and I stayed here while he attended a conference at the JW. (Sold out, BOO!!!) Check in was quick and the staff friendly. I found our suite spacious and comfortable. Overall it was quiet, with the exception of the planes flying over in the early morning hours. (We live near an airport back at home, so not a huge issue for us.) I enjoyed my days working out in their gym and then by the pool. The gym is really quite small, but I got by with what they offered. I was dissappointed as the only elyptical machine was out of service. The treadmills were nice and the weight machines sufficient. The pool is not large by any means, but I enjoyed the tranquility. During my stay there was never more than 4 others at the pool. I enjoyed 3 full days of sitting in the water reading a good book. It was disappointing as last year in Orlando (again at the spill off Marriott) there was an outside bar with food service as well. I brought in most of my own food and beverage, so for me not a huge deal. The maids were very prompt in the mornings and did a fabulous job cleaning. They were also very friendly. The room does not provide an in-room safe (unlike my stay in Orlando), I really like to have the option of locking up personal belongings... The site itself was attractive and we really did enjoy a relaxing stay.

“Wonderful Hotel”

Scottsdale Marriott at McDowell Mountains

Terrific stay at a high quality hotel. We also got a great off-season rate. Staff were wonderful, the room was extraordinary and we had a great time sitting in the sun by the big, clean pool. We will stay here again!

Before we arrived, we contact Ms. Newman; very professional and cheerful. When we arrived, we were greeted by a tall, beautiful and friendly young lady at the front desk. Those are only two of several incredible staff members at McDowell mountains.

Our room was nice and comfortable and overlooked the golf course. Dinner was expensive but delicious. The pool was relaxing and the temp. in the hot tub was perfect. Yes, it is near an airport but we barely heard the planes. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, nice selection. This is a beautiful property with wonderful people working there.

Was at this hotel for a conference. I have stayed at some other Scottsdale resorts and this one does not compare. If you are looking for a true resort, look someplace else.

This is a clean hotel that sits next to a golf course, but does not have the feel of a real resort.

My room was very spacious with a nice sitting area and large bathroom. Nothing to complain about here.

The location is fair, not close to downtown Scottsdale.

There are so many great hotel choices in Scottsdale that I would not recommend this place.

I have stayed at the Camelback, the JW Marriott and this hotel can hold its own! I loved my experience here! It does not have a spa...many local ones are so close if you don't want to skip that luxury. I really like pool side drink service which this lacks....(you can call from a house phone by the pool and order but be prepared to wait) so remember to get one before you go down the stairs. Everything is close, not like some other resorts that you have to walk miles to get to everything. The staff was incredible!!! The views are incredible!!! Yes, it is close to the small craft airport....I didn't mind this at the pool, it was interesting to see some of the small planes fly over. And I didn't notice any noise in my room due to my air conditioning running. Food at the hotel was good, pricy like most hotels...but so many local options I strongly suggest you try.
