I didn't stay at this property, but dined at the Yavapai restaurant. Although the presentation of the food was decent, but the taste was delicious and tasty (I had Colorado Lamb), the service was relaxed and friendly, but very professional.

We dined here on 10/30/07 for dinner. It is so pitch black in the canyon and at the resort that it is hard to find at night if you are not familiar with this area. But find it we did. We were promptly seated and offered complimentary bottled water to drink. We both ordered citron & tonics and they were excellent. We were offered nice warm bread slices in two varieties w/regular butter and herb butter. After perusing the menu my husband ordered the Tasmanian Salmon and I had the risotto w/flash fried vegetables. My husband liked his salmon which was on top of some potatoes, veggies and some other seafood. The risotto came out like 3 half egg rolls and the inside looked similar to a california roll. There was risotto, asparagus, carrot and it was wrapped up in a eggplant ribbon that was flash fried. There was some roasted red pepper sauce as well as a creamed corn sauce served with it. It is hard to explain, but it was very good. I had had a trio of bibb lettuces w/ grilled shrimp and avocado for an appetizer and he had the mushroom and lobster soup. Both of these were very good. For dessert we had the banana bread pudding w/homemade butter pecan ice cream. This was very tasty and rich. More than enough for the two of us. With our check they brought us two chocolates, but honestly I was too full to eat more than a bite. It was good and rich. The menu here is heavy on seafood, so if you don't like seafood you may have a hard time ordering something thus why I had the risotto. The service was impeccable and the final tab or us 2 including 3 drinks- $170--very pricey but nice for a special treat.
We spent our honeymoon at the Enchantment 10 years ago and had a wonderful experience. Our casita was located at the highest elevation and we had a fabulous view of Boyton Canyon. We enjoyed playing golf, croquet, hiking and their fabulous restaurant. We also did all of the touristy things while we were there which included the pink jeep expeditions and flying over the Grand Canyon.
We've been carrying these memories around with us for the past 10 years and thought it would be the perfect place to return to for our 10th anniversary. Unfortunately we were unable to book the same room, but the room we had was very nice and spacious. It was located in the new section with a limited view of the canyon walls (a tree was blocking part of the view).
The staff still remains very professional and they are very accommodating. We were pleasantly surprised when they remembered our names during our stay.
And we saw a family of javalinas. This was our fourth time to Sedona and we've never seen the elusive javalinas. We were beginning to think they were one of those urban legends that the locals like to tell tourists about, but one night on our way to dinner we ran into a family of javalinas!!!
If you truly want to enjoy the beauty and serenity of Red Rock Country, this is the place to stay.
If you want to sit outside to watch the sun set on the red rocks and the stars overhead, ask the person who takes your reservation to suggest the appropriate time to guarantee outdoor seating. The operative word being 'guarantee'. Upon our arrival, we were very disappointed to learn that our reserved request for outdoor seating could not be accommodated, so when the sun went down we were looking at a black wall of glass instead of stars. Although the food was very good (excellent blue corn crepes and buffalo tenderloin but skip the lobster salad at $16.00 for four bites) the raison d’être of the restaurant was missing. Very good food can be had at many places, and for less money.
Each time we visit Sedona, we always have at least one meal at Yavapai. We are never disappointed. The food and service is excellent. The views are incredible. It is our favorite restaurant in Sedona!
