Being a foodie and a tired traveler, I had high expectations for this restaurant. Dinner on my first night at the hotel, was good. The waiter was nice, but the hostess so-so. Still, the waiter didn't offer me the 50% discount on dessert for being a first time guest, which I overheard him offer to the table nearest to me. BUMMER! The live music in the bar was nice (Linda Sandoval on piano with her own vocals), but the bartender was a little less than warm. The next morning, I went for breakfast and watched a new cook in the kitchen screw up things. The waitress ignored me forever until I complained about the food, which was eggs scrambled with chorizo.....it was obvious they were microwaved....they were still cool to the fork in multiple spots! At least they had the courtesy to take the breakfast off the meal and I only had to pay the $4 for my orange juice....yes, it was an 8oz glass of juice for $4 in a restaurant with a hostess/manager who had no clue what was going on in the kitchen. It was pretty funny to watch the waitress coach the cook on how she knew what to do ....and she didn't even take my order....I had to order from the bus/water boy otherwise, I would have still been sitting there for a long time. I watched and this poor service was carried on at all the other tables. It was unbelievable! Then, later in the day, I didn't give up, but I tried to use my hotel coupon for a free $5 tapas or small plate....not many options were on the menu, but I ordered the chips and guacamole. It was tasty, I'll give them credit, but the attitude by the bartender was lacking in pleasantness, yet again. Finally, I gave the restaurant and bar one last chance by going there for dessert late at night, which by the way, usually closes by 9pm. Kitchen closes at 8:30pm usually, ....I managed to order a dessert around 8:30pm, which was decent, and the bartender was 1/2 way decent this time. The music was a blues guitar singer who was enjoyable to listen too.
Prices are high enough that service should have been better. I had a much better breakfast-to-go the next day from a diner in the shopping plaza next door.
