The Cozy Cactus exceeded all expectations. My husband and I stayed there for 4 nights in early May. We stayed in the smallest room, but it was lovely and comfortable. The owners, Carrie and Mark, are great hosts and helpful in all ways, from advise about activities and restaurants, to making reservations for us. We have stayed in many B & B's around the country over the years and this was one of the very best experiences. The breakfasts were fantastic, as was the location (a tiny bit away from the busy Sedona city area) and the views. Breakfast (and sunset cocktails) on the back patio, which faces national park land and spectacular views, made the experience very special and relaxing.

“Beautifull Location”

Cozy Cactus Bed and Breakfast

20 May 2008

The Cozy Cactus has a lot going for it, The location is fantastic as the back patio borders on to the national forest providing great views and instant access to walking paths and hiking trails.

We stayed in the small room, which was ok but a little tired. I think that the larger rooms would be the way to go.

Mark and Carrie, the owners, are great hosts and the delicious three course breakfasts were a great way to start the day.

As new owners Mark and I agree with our guest that the room was a little tired and have made some major modifications to bring it some modern comforts. The room (and all of our other rooms) now has a beautiful king bed with high thread Egyptian cotton sheets, comforter and duvet. Luxurious bamboo and cotton blend towels, a leather couch and Fiesta dinnerware. In addition, the room has been painted and a new kitchen pantry has been installed. The room though not one of our largest rooms does appear smaller than it is due to the leather couch and antique dresser. Our guest now find the room to be very comfy and "cozy" and much less tired.

“Stars over Bell Rock”

My family spent 2 nights at the Cozy Cactus in March 2008. We stayed in the smallest room in the place, since that was the only one available [the room names are about to change under the new owners, so 'smallest' is the most convenient name]. Other posters have commented that this room is a big step down compared to the others. I'm inclined to agree, but it's still very well appointed, and more importantly I realized that the rooms are not the reason to stay here. The reasons to choose the Cozy Cactus are (i) the charming owners, who are helpful in every way possible; (ii) the delicious breakfasts; and most of all (iii) the rear garden that opens directly onto national forest land with trails that can have you scrambling up red rocks within minutes. My 6-year old daughter was in love with the place. One evening we decided not to go out to eat, but instead enjoyed take out food from the Chinese place across the street while sitting on the rear patio and watching the stars appear above Bell Rock. Priceless.

We stayed in the Hideway Cowboy suite with our two children, ages 8 and 10. The Cozy Cactus is the perfect setting to enjoy all that Sedona has to offer. The views are unmatched, the access to the national forest and all the hiking trails was superb. We hiked from the B&B to Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte. As if that were not enough, the breakfast was fresh, original and delicious. The new owners are doing a great job. We hope to return in the future and have already recommended it to friends and family.
