Stayed overnight at Hyatt Place Tempe after arriving at Sky Harbor at 8:30 PM. Waited for the hotel shuttle - shuttle was packed full w/ passengers and luggage. Room was fine at that hour, who is going to complain. Hotel is on the fringe of Tempe and nothing is near it (no restaurants or shops). Another hotel - Marriott was next to it on this service road. Looks nice from the outside. Inside was nicely decorated. Rooms were nicely appointed, though cramped for four.
Portable refrigerator, countertop and a bar sink. No utensils, microwave or other kitchen needs. Small working desk and task chair. L-shaped sectional that had a pull out full size bed, which our two kids used (9 and 11 yrs). Large flat screen that was positioned between the "living room" and the bedroom so you could share viewing. King size bed was nice. AC unit made the bedroom cool, but could not really cool down the living room - no vents and not enough power to push cool air about 15 feet.
Problem was the bathroom - faucet on the sink was installed incorrectly, so at low flow the water splashed all over the counter, puddling behind the faucet. Not much counter space for cosmetics and toothbrushes and stuff from two kids. Worst part was the shower/toilet, which was in its own separate room, which was fine, but the room was so small, you had to stand next to the toilet to close the door. Also, poorly lit. For four, the room was too small.
Breakfast was nice - french toast, breakfast sandwiches, bagels, oat meal, cereal, cut fruit and fresh juice. At 7, the breakfast buffet is really full, coffee carafes were emptying faster than they could make.
OK stay. Great for two people, seems like a layover for business travelers.
