We stayed at the Embassy Suites – Tempe for four nights – two in August and two in September. We had a great stay! While the hotel style is not the traditional Embassy Suites model (high-rise building with interior atrium) this three-story building fit with the surrounding Southwest building motif. On both occasions, we stayed in Building A which has easy access to the hotel’s restaurant, bar area and pool area. Our rooms were clean and well-maintained. Since we are Hilton Gold members, we enjoyed complimentary wifi as well as two bottles of complimentary water. We also had a welcome note awaiting us on both occasions, always a nice touch.
The hotel offers both a complimentary breakfast and a complimentary manager’s social hour. The breakfast was great with a made-to-order egg station (the egg-white omelets are really yummy!). Other hot items on the buffet included potatoes, meats (sausage, bacon), oatmeal, French toast and pancakes. For cold items, the breakfast had a great selection of fresh fruits (melon, strawberries & pineapple) as well as cold cereal and yogurt. There was a nice variety of breads (sliced whole wheat/white bread, bagels, English muffins and sweets (Danish and Blueberry muffins). Coffee/tea were self-service and both were upscale (coffee was Starbuck’s and tea was Tazo). A variety of juices were available too along with a dispensing machine for soft drinks. So, in summary, the breakfast was a very nice way to begin the morning....We stayed at the Embassy Suites – Tempe for four nights – two in August and two in September. We had a great stay! So, in summary, the breakfast was a very nice way to begin the morning. The complimentary manager’s social hour was available from 5:30P – 7:30P. It featured a full open bar along with house wines and beer. There were also some snacks (i.e., chips & salsa, crackers & onion dip and a pretzel mix). Service was quick and easy – you just showed a guest card to one of the bartenders and selected your beverage. We also had a waitress one evening and she attended to refills.
Staff members at the hotel were friendly and professional. In particular, we would like to acknowledge Shoko (front desk). She handled our first check-out and then made sure that we would have a room in Building A upon our return since we were due to arrive back at the Embassy Suites in the very late evening/early morning. It was a great touch and very much appreciated! Also, the van driver John was very helpful and friendly. We took the shuttle to the airport and he assisted with our luggage. He also gave us a hotel address card so that we could arrange for a taxi upon our return to Phoenix (the shuttle didn’t run when our 11:30PM flight arrived). We also think that Elijah did a great job in the restaurant during the breakfast service. Lastly, our housekeepers were very efficient as our room was cleaned while we were at breakfast which meant no afternoon interruptions.
We will continue to use the Embassy Suites – Tempe and highly recommend it to others!More
