I only stay at Marriott when traveling for business or pleasure. I requested an early check in after driving 6 hours from Los Angeles. Unfortunately, upon arrival 15-20 people were waiting for their rooms. Indy explained that housekeeping was behind because of an unexpected rush. Indy took care of the problem and provided the quality of service that I've come to expect at Marriott. Kudos to her in handling a very difficult situation with patience and outstanding professionalism! P. Huber, Irvine, CA

Just spent two weeks at the Courtyard in downtown Tempe, and let me start off by saying that the staff was great! I would like to especially thank Indy for her outstanding service. I was very pleased with the room and the accommodations were much appreciated. I was never shorted a good nights sleep. Nothing could beat the location being so close to Mill Avenue. With all of the great eats and an AMC theater within walking distance, there was plenty to do. Even with the major construction going on directly behind the hotel, there was little to no distraction while in my room. I originally considered staying at a Residence Inn nearby, and I am glad I chose Courtyard instead. Missing out on the breakfast and happy hour at the Residence Inn, became an afterthought within the first couple of days of my visit. I certainly recommend the Courtyard in Downtown Tempe and look forward to another visit in the near future.

Room tip: With the construction happening on the Eastside of the complex, rooms on eather the north or south side would be more ideal.

Thank you for letting others know of your great stay! Many guests mention Indy by name and we all appreciate the special way she provides customer service on a daily basis. Her passion for the hotel and our guests is contagious! The very best thing a guest can have at a hotel is a good night's sleep and with your 2 week stay, it is wonderful that you slept well while away from home! We look forward to your return.

Special thanks to Courtyard staff, Indy, Ali & Jeremy for your outstanding service! This location is in a great part of town, very easy to walk to restaurants and AMC theater.

Indy you always make my stay pleasant. You were right about Gordon Biersch Brewery and RA Sushi, they both have great food.

If you want a great place to relax try the Courtyard Downtown and ask for Indy, Ali or Jeremy.

Indy, Ali and Jeremy will be pleased that you recognized their great service! They make a super team as they are passionate about making certain our guests have the best information and suggestions! We all enjoy the great options for dining and you chose two of the best! For additional information, Courtyards also have a GO BOARD for maps and directions. Since we in the heart of Tempe, there are numerous corporate offices nearby and the ASU campus as well! We are close to the light rail station and the Phoenix Sky Harbor airport. We look forward to seeing you again.

Anyone who has visited Tempe, Arizona, knows that Mill Avenue is a veritable portal into the past and present. Psychedelic head-shops sit adjacent to beer joints, pizza parlors, the occasional upscale restaurant, ASU fashion outlets, old-book stores, and souvenir shops. It also becomes obvious that Tempe nights belong to partiers. Both current and former ASU students descend upon Mill Avenue like "biters" stalking Atlanta in The Walking Dead." For those reasons, one becomes truly grateful the Marriott Courtyard-Tempe is off the beaten path of Mill Avenue. It's only a couple of blocks, but far enough to make the Courtyard a "safe zone" from the Mill Avenue throngs.

The hotel itself is all one could ask for: clean, accessible, comfortable, welcoming, WiFi equipped, and staffed by a dedicated group of employees whose chief aim is your comfort. Drawbacks are few, but do exist. For instance, the hotel marketplace is truly minimal. Secondly, food service is a la carte and a little expensive. One can quickly miss the free food happy hour of the nearby Residence Inn and its bountiful breakfast.

Granted, the Courtyard is usually less expensive than the Residence Inn, but addressing the few issues cited above would go a long ways towards making the Courtyard a first choice rather than a Residence Inn default.

Room tip: Make sure your room's A/C is working. This is Arizona!

Clean, accessible, comfortable and welcoming is the theme we strive for every day with every guest! Thanks for telling others of your visit to our Oasis in the desert! You captured the essence of the famous Mill Ave which is nostalgic to ASU students for all the reasons you state. We are happy to be within walking distance and provide a safe environment for guests to relax and rest. Our guests are able to choose between dining out or having a delicious meal at the Bistro. Being close to the light rail station plus close to the airport and freeways, guests find they have access to all of what the greater Phoenix area has to offer. Please visit again!
