We stayed here for 2 nights in June 2008 while visiting the Grand Canyon with our 2 sons. The outside is old in keeping with the Rte 66 theme but the insides are all new and fabulous! The bedding was luxurious and the baths were marble and stone. TV was great as well - rooms are on the small side but we were able to get by. The breakfast was very limited - it consisted of instant oatmeal, fruit and prepackaged donuts, honey buns and danishes, coffee and orange juice. One morning we when to the local McDonalds instead of eating at the hotel. For the price of 99.00, I would stay here again! Don't miss the old west shoot out each night at 7:30 pm

“Great place to stay”

Rodeway Inn & Suites Downtowner-Rte 66

15 Jun 2008

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting the south rim of the Grand Canyon which is approximately 1hr drive north of Williams. Despite being small, the accomodation was very clean and well presented which was a pleasant surprise since the property does not look much from the outside.
We initially booked a 3-night stay but later changed our plans to take in a trip to Bryce Canyon (well worth the effort!). There were no problems with making this change to the reservation which we advised to them within 24hr notice of our arrival.
The train track does run fairly close to the property and the early morning trains at 2.30am and 4.30am woke a lighter sleeper.
We ordered takeaway pizza from Pizza Hut, which they deliver to the motel, although the waiting time was 1hr.
Breakfast, served after 7am across the road, is complimentary and comprises mainly coffee and pastries.
The staff were friendly and made a good recommendation for dinner.
We shall remember our Williams stay for the re-enactment of a historical shoot out performed each evening in the summer by local people.
Should we return to Williams, we would stay at the Rodeway Downtowner Motel.

Stayed in this hotel for 3 days while in Williams. Absolutely loved it. All the reviews on here are dead on. Had some problems checking in, apparently the price I had reserved wasn't offered anymore and had problems with the computer taking it. But that was quickly resolved and they even discounted one of the nights because of it. I read alot of reviews saying the outside wasn't much to look at but I thought it was very quaint looking.

We booked a one room King room. While it was small inside, it was enough room for us seeing as how we were going to the Grand Canyon and wouldn't end up spending that much time in the room. They do have suites which I heard were bigger so be aware if you get a standard room like this its small.

The town of Williams was amazing. Nice place just to getaway and enjoy life not in a big city. Almost everything is within walking distance. There are a few gas stations in the area. The cheapest gas was right down the street (I forget the exact name of the store but it was always busy). Gas was 30 cents cheaper there then at the Mobil station about a mile away. All in all we had a great stay and will stay again if ever in the area.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Rodeway Inn & Suites Downtowner. Spent two nights at the Downtowner last week and would go back in a heartbeat. Don't confuse this hotel with other Rodeways in the area that aren't getting such great reviews, or older reviews possibly from when someone else owned this property. This IS the one to stay at. New owners not too long ago and they have updated this hotel very nicely.

We had a wonderful time, enjoyed the hotelstaff who was very helpful, the people of Williams, and everthing about this nice little town. It was a fun place to stay at while visiting the Grand Canyon. Did I mention how clean the hotel was!

My wife and I were attracted to this property by all the positive reviews we had read. We had made a reservatioan in advance. The motel is not much (actually) to look at from the street....but my wife was wowed by the room decor. (I had seen some photos and knew what to anticipate.) BUT....a few minor drawbacks - ice machine is in the office, so if no one is in the office (in the morning) - no ice. No telephone, microwave or refrigerator - there isn't any room! No closet, either - so we hung our clothes on one of the towel racks.. In-room wireless internet worked, but conection was weak. Bathroom facilities are really small. The king bed was very comfortable to sleep in - but becuase of it there is no table. For two people with luggage and traveling stuff, the overall space is tight. We were told continental breakfast was rolls and coffee. We left before this began at 7am. It was an OK one time stay. If in Williams again, iwe'd look for a roomier hotel, at probably a better price.
