First of all this place was advertised as gateway to the grand canyon, more like the gateway to hell. The rooms were filthy and had dead roaches under the bed and living ones in the bathrooms. Obviously no room service due to the lack of towels and clean bedding. Carpets were trashed and the room stunk to high heavens. After first night I received about 2 dozen bites all around my body, after inspecting the bed I realized there was tiny bugs crawling all around the corners, after consulting the owner I was denied another room and told to I could not get a refund after my horrible experiences with this dump. The owner did not show any customer service at all. Not only that he would chase anyone parking on his dirt lot(not sure if he actually owns this lot), including my family that came to visit us the first day of our trip. he actually made them park a 1/2 mile down the street even though there was not one car parked in this lot of maybe 50 spaces. Worst travel experince ever. Stick with the big names in williams like best western and what not, the money saved is not worth it.

I was suprised by the earlier post since we had stayed there a few years ago and had no problems what so ever. It's basic for sure but I would have given that stay a solid 3 or 4 rating and a very good value for the price. This time was a different story, though. We went around New Year's, same as last time. This time the heat was sporadic at best and the blankets were not nearly warm enough keep us comfortable. Lights were out in the room and no one even came into the room to clean/replace towels, etc. while we were out for the day.

The owners were very nice but we were very disappointed with the room. I don't know if this property is currently AAA rated. The last year on their wall was 2004. I find it hard to believe based on our experience that this place would get AAA rated as it is now. I would have rated it a one except for the fact that there was enough hot water.

I can't recommend it and hope the owners start working a little harder to keep customers satisfied.

I booked this motel 6 months in advance because of the location, size of the room, and value. Traveling with 6 people we needed adequate space over the 4th of July week. Our room size was great but there was only one bathroom. I expected that. What I did not expect was that the owner of the hotel tried to drive the rate higher because of my two children, and had my arrival date 10 days later, even though I had called three times to confirm the rate and dates. I spoke personally with his son each time and he assured me that he had my arrival dates and rate as stated. I had to argue with the owner to keep the rate I was quoted! Then the room had flimsy mattresses, filthy carpets and windowsills, and we did not have adequate towels or pillows. We had to beg for everything! I didn't expect much as I expected the area to be packed, but there were so many nicer hotels with similar rates and vacancies that I felt really gyped. Next time I will know better. I like to support the mom and pop places but this was owned by a foreigner with only $$$ in his head---no quality or pride in his establishment. The area is great but I would not stay at this place again.
