Had a coast vacation planned, but fires had us making different plans in the last hour. Hadn't been to the Grand Canyon in several years, so thought that may be good plus relaxing in the pines and cooler weather. Didn't know the area so was going strickly on description on website. Booked this hotel for 2 nights and was given a good rate. THEN we read some of the reviews and was wondering if we did right or not, but since the reservation was for the next day, couldn't cancel. When we got there, although bath is small and must admit in need of updating, everything was clean and we had no problems. Only recommendations I see for the hotel itself is they need to upgrade their linens and do some minor renovations. The couple running it was nice and we even stayed an extra night. And they were able to tell us where to get bait for some fishing and the lakes around there. There was a dog barking one night, but come on, that's not their fault. it was coming from across the street. Trains weren't bothersome either. It was really rather quiet and enjoyed not hearing sirens all night like in the city. So if you want a smaller scale hotel, a fair rate, the Travelodge in Williams is good. The drive to the Canyon from there was good too. The scenery is wonderful. We'll go back.
