We stayed here while driving through, and it was just OK...nothing special, and to get two beds, we had to upgrade to a "better" room. The property is somewhat run-down, and a bit shabby, but serviceable, albeit a bit spendy in our opinion. The "internet cafe" promised on the marquee was in fact two somewhat slow computers in a small area in the office, and the "free breakfast " consisted of a very few choices, and some offerings were stale and not too appetizing. Some front desk personnel seemed to have a language barrier whenever problems were brought to their attention.

“Vlaue Stay for the Grand Canyon Visit”

Travelodge Williams Grand Canyon

31 Mar 2008

This place is right on route 66 and it leads into the main road that takes you into the Grand Canyon. I needed to find a cheap room that was clean and had a continental breakfast. The room was clean. The bathroom clean. The beds were adequate the best features were the little mini fridge and mini coffee pot. We were able to chill our sodas and water for the next day. I was disappointed in the continental breakfast. They did not have hot cereal or bread or bagels to toast. They had mini donuts, muffins, cold cereal, bananas, juice, milk and coffee. The second morning we were a bit later getting up and the bananas were gone. I did not expect much from the breakfast but oatmeal would have been nice or a bagal with my juice. I will call and check on the breakfast items for my next booking. Overall i liked the stay but very dissappointed in the breakfast.

“Place to sleep 60 mins from Grand Canyon”

Travelodge Williams Grand Canyon

24 Mar 2008

We stayed at this hotel b/c of its close proximity to the Grand Canyon (60 min drive). Travel website ratings gave it decent reviews and the price was right ($60). One thing about Williams, it definitely benefits due to the fact that it is one of the closest places to grab a hotel when visiting the Grand Canyon. And because of this close proximity the hotels likely don't have to try very hard to impress. Our room was fine, it was small but clean. We didn't make use of the breakfast, which when we checked out appeared to be mini cake donuts. Instead we went across the street to the Route 66 Diner and had a great breakfast. One strange occurrence during our stay was that we had opened the bathroom window to circulate some fresh air and in the middle of the night we awoke to a powerful smell of burning wood. In fact, it was so strong I thought the hotel was on fire. We closed the window and turned on the air conditioner fan. Quite strange.

Had a coast vacation planned, but fires had us making different plans in the last hour. Hadn't been to the Grand Canyon in several years, so thought that may be good plus relaxing in the pines and cooler weather. Didn't know the area so was going strickly on description on website. Booked this hotel for 2 nights and was given a good rate. THEN we read some of the reviews and was wondering if we did right or not, but since the reservation was for the next day, couldn't cancel. When we got there, although bath is small and must admit in need of updating, everything was clean and we had no problems. Only recommendations I see for the hotel itself is they need to upgrade their linens and do some minor renovations. The couple running it was nice and we even stayed an extra night. And they were able to tell us where to get bait for some fishing and the lakes around there. There was a dog barking one night, but come on, that's not their fault. it was coming from across the street. Trains weren't bothersome either. It was really rather quiet and enjoyed not hearing sirens all night like in the city. So if you want a smaller scale hotel, a fair rate, the Travelodge in Williams is good. The drive to the Canyon from there was good too. The scenery is wonderful. We'll go back.
