The hotel is at the far end of the resort of Fuengirola, the last hotel before the road leads out towards Marbella. This is great if you dont want to be in the main strip area of the resort, as it is a good 20-30min stroll to the marina and the main area with the bars and restaurants, although there are some nice bars on the way to stop in.
Parking is free. Reception spacious and had no issue in checking in and getting to our room. The room was spacious and clean, with lots of wardrobe space. We had a balcony and sea view, which was nice to sit out on during the afternoon when it was very hot.
Breakfast and dinner is buffet style. The food is the same as you would expect in most hotels that offer half board, nothing special, but adequate for a few days. The waiters serve drinks at your table and everything is paid for on departure, which is useful and saves carrying cash around all day.
If you dont have children with you, then beware the kids club and disco starts at 8pm every evening, and it is located right next to the outside dining area, so you will get noise and music every evening. One other thing to note is the bread rolls always seemed to be stale! - very strange!
We didnt use the Spa / Gym, but did notice that at least 50% of the Gym equipment was out of order.
Prices for drinks were ok, slightly more expensive than in the town. Bottle of house wine is 10 euro, coffee over 2euro and beer approx 3euro.
If you walk along the beach, there is a nice atmosphere, especially late in the evenings, where locals have bbq's in old fishing boats, and meet friends and family well into the night.
Sunbeds outside the hotel on the beach are nothing to do with the hotel, and cost 9euro for 2beds and a parasol.
The bars on the walk down to the marina are generally good and friendly. If you are willing to shop around you can get a tubo of lager for 1euro, a cana for 90cents and a pint for 1euro 80.
For early July, the main resort seemed busy, especially into the evening, but the hotel was at most 40-50% full.
