After enjoying a relaxing walk around Nerja, eating a wonderful lunch, and "taking in" the sunshine and cool ocean breezes, we decided to "top off" our day trip from Marbella with a visit to the Caves of Nerja.
Having been to Carlsbad Caverns, and Ruby Falls in Tenn., I didn't know what to expect. We visited the Cave of the Wind in Colorado last Oct., and it was a "dead cave", and not very interesting. These caverns however are alive and gorgeous. It is much larger than I expected, and you need to have on good walking shoes and be in good health to walk the entire pathway. I lived in Rota, Spain in the 1960's and never knew about these caves. What a pleasant surprise, and a great place to visit when you are visiting Nerja.
