After a busy month racing around Europe, my girlfriend and I set up camp here for five nights, and I can honestly say it was magnificent.
We had a self-contained room on the top floor. It had a balcony with 160 degree ocean views, air-conditioning, pretty comfortable bed, decent bathroom with good water pressure.
The staff were tremendous, and handled my enquiries about the directions to laundromats/stores etc in bad Spanish with humour. They are masters of catching one or two words and knowing what you mean "Dande esta lavendaria?".
The location of the hotel is remarkable, it's among the winding streets that make up Nerja's main section, but far enough away from the bars and clubs that you could get some sleep when you needed to.
Having said that, everything you need is a two or three minute walk through some of the most beautiful streets in all of Europe.
The beaches are only a couple of minutes away as well.
The price was remarkable. We paid AU$100 a night for the room, and had a great time utilising the kitchen (well-equipped) to make Spanish feats with the chorizo, cerano jamon and monchego queso we'd found at the supermercado! Even better than going to a restaurant.
I highly recommend both hostal tres sol and Nerja itself.
