My wife and I spent a week at the Bonanza apartments just before Easter, travelling back on Good Friday. We went with Thomas Cook on a last minute deal on half board basis. The Bonanza Apartments are about 300 metres from the beach, when aproached through the bungalow complex opposite , but are set back in a quiet area.,whilst still being in easy reach of the lively parts of Playa De Las Americas, about a 15 mins slow walk away.. These apartments have obviously been refurbished . Our room on the 7th floor was very clean and all the furniture looked new, as did kitchen implements kettle etc. There was a welcoming bottle of wine, which was nice touch. The bathroom was a bit dated, but the water was hot whatever time of day you needed it. The rooms were not air condidtioned, and would get very hot in the height of summer. It was 25 degs when we were there and we had to sleep with the balcony door open at night, There was very little noise from the front of the hotel, but the rear backs onto the main autoroute through Tenerife and it was quite noisy, although you did get used to it after a while. We were on half board, so had breakfast and evening meals. The meals were not very hot and there was very little choice. The salad selection looked very "tired" like it was topped up not fresh each day. They ran out of plates more than once and having to eat a main meal on a 6 inch plate while a novelty at first became a bit of an irritation after a few days. The holiday when we booked it promised entertainment in the evening, but we were told that did not start until June. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. fresh sheets and towels 5 times a week. The pool area was reached via steps, which could be a problem for some people. We had 2 drinks in the bar only. I object to being charged 1 euro for a splash of lemonade when a glassful was the same price, the drinks were a bit pricy, so we drank at a bar about 100 metres away each evening and got twice as much for our money. All in all we enjoyed the break, but I would not go back to the Bonanza again, unless it was a last minute cheapie! and then I would go self catering. It was what you would expect a 3* hotel to be really, no frills, just basic
