On arrival we received a warm, friendly welcome from the reception staff, and were upgraded to a bungalow, complete with the sunny terrace we requested. There were a couple of minor problems with the room, but these were rectified within minutes of reporting them and a complimentary bottle of Cava arrived shortly afterwards.
We opted for half board at a cost of £7.00 pppn and we weren’t disappointed. The quality and variety of the food was excellent and is prepared and cooked at every station; there is even a waiter offering various liqueurs to pour over your ice cream.
The atmosphere at the Riu Adeje is relaxed and informal and the staff are extremely polite, friendly and attentive. The management team, led by Antonia, maintain a high profile and take their meals with the guests. The pool is an excellent design and is never too busy. There are ample sun beds and parasols and waiter service is also provided; one nice touch was when the sunbathers were served slices of watermelon to help cool off. Poolside activities are available for anyone who wishes to join in and there were a couple of fashion shows in the afternoon to entertain the sunbathers. An excellent hotel, efficiently run and we cannot recommend it highly enough.

“A wonderful return trip”

My wife, I and our 3 (nearly 4) year old daughter returned to the Riu Adeje after last being here in Nov 2004.
Nothings changed - the standards are as high as previously experienced.
We chose the half/board option this time. The food was superb and service in the restaurant was excellent.
Returning to my table with a tray of prawns, the staff somehow noticed and within 30 seconds had arrived with finger towels and a bowl for the prawn shells.
If a knife or fork dropped on the floor - someone was there to pick it up and replace it with clean cutlery!! - I can only say this is incredible attention to detail
We were blessed with weather around 23-24 centigrade and our little one throughly enjoyed spending time at both the shallow toddler pool and the much larger shallow-to-deep pool.
English television is still restricted to Eurosport, CNN and Skynews - which isnt great for kids. This time we took a portable DVD player and our daughters favourite movies.

All in all - a great break

I cannot fault this hotel at all. It was so clean and spacious. My husband and I went on a last minute holiday so didn't have any expectations at all, but after staying here I will be checking the Riu website for accommodation wherever we decide to go if the one in Tenerife is anything to go by.

“An enjoyable stay”

We stayed at this property last week for 4 nights during half term.
First impressions were good, prompt courteous check-in, very attractive reception area and helpful porters. They gave us villa 622 which is just about the furthest from reception and a 4 minute walk. Our villa was on 1 level and was clean, comfy and furnished to a 2/3 star self catering standard. We were overlooked directly by the kiddie pool which wasn't ideal but then we didn't really spend too much time in the villa. I would have to agree with others and say that maintenance really should get out and touch up the paintwork in the villas and communal areas.
Pool area was nice and everyone seemed very well behaved (mainly German, English & Dutch residents)
We didn't try the food or entertainment and the only slightly annoying thing is if you have a hire car, the hotel doesn't have a car park and you have to find a space on the road ( not always easy and with a possible long walk involved.) So to sum up, I would recommend the hotel but do remember you are getting 2 star rooms and a 4 star reception & pool area. Hope this helps.

“Not for the stereotypical Brit tourist”

Liking the finer things in life, we entered onto our trip to Tenerife with the thought that we would have to put up with the Union Jack brigade, but what a surprise.

It was absolutely perfect.

Great accomodation, great staff, great facilities, GREAT HOLIDAY.

There were plenty of sunbeds, and they weren't all reserved. The bungalows were spacious. The layout of the complex was brilliant, ensuring privacy when you wanted it. There was nothing I would change.

There were 6 plus one infant in our party and the hotel staff even made sure we were all next door to each other. They seemed to know our names instantly. We asked for things like extra pillows, and the interconnecting doors to be opened and someone was sent out to us within two hours.

Overall, considering this was a package, we would all recommend this to everyone except the English breakfast and pint swilling lovers. Its not that you wouldn't enjoy it, I just hope that you don't come and ruin it.
