On arrival we received a warm, friendly welcome from the reception staff, and were upgraded to a bungalow, complete with the sunny terrace we requested. There were a couple of minor problems with the room, but these were rectified within minutes of reporting them and a complimentary bottle of Cava arrived shortly afterwards.
We opted for half board at a cost of £7.00 pppn and we weren’t disappointed. The quality and variety of the food was excellent and is prepared and cooked at every station; there is even a waiter offering various liqueurs to pour over your ice cream.
The atmosphere at the Riu Adeje is relaxed and informal and the staff are extremely polite, friendly and attentive. The management team, led by Antonia, maintain a high profile and take their meals with the guests. The pool is an excellent design and is never too busy. There are ample sun beds and parasols and waiter service is also provided; one nice touch was when the sunbathers were served slices of watermelon to help cool off. Poolside activities are available for anyone who wishes to join in and there were a couple of fashion shows in the afternoon to entertain the sunbathers. An excellent hotel, efficiently run and we cannot recommend it highly enough.
