Me and my partner went here last summer and absolutely loved it. I would quite happily go back this year. You couldn't ask for a better location for the hotel no matter what way you go out the hotel theres plenty pubs and clubs. Especially enjoyed the romantic walk along the beach to porto colom. Spoilt for choices of restaraunt's! The hotel was beautiful as was the gardens and pool. We were half board and could easily of ate here every nite, excellent choice and very fresh. I could keep going on but i think you get the point that we loved it. Must point out i wasn't very keen on going to Tenerife but can honestly say best holiday ever.

Me and my fiance spent a week in the iberostar bouganville playa, have to say our stay was excellent we thoroughly enjoyed it. The maid service was extremely good as they cleaned our room every day however waited until we had vacated our room which was pretty much the early afternoon !! We were on the 10th floor and the view was superb !

We would agree with some other reviews as in the rooms good do with a wee lick of paint and some of the fittings were a wee bit tired however everything was clean and was in working order.

Was extremely impressed about the sun loungers, as never did we have to get up early to reserve one, there was loads to choose from through out the day, its a first for us !!!!

The food was also fantastic im an extremely fussy eater and dont think a night went by without me having two plates for dinner !!

To sum up we dont have any complaints at all about this hotel and would definitely recommend it, albeit its not the greatest location as its more las americas than it is costa adeje.

As some of the others have said, this is not a 4star hotel (but this is common in Spain).
The communal areas are good (2 nice swimming pools, nice bar area, nice outside terrace overlooking the sea) but the rooms are a bit dated. We asked for rooms on a higher floor (read on tripadvisor other guests had trouble with the noise) and we didn't have noise problems.
I enjoyed the food (we were half-board)- lots of healthy options as well as universal favourites.
Service was hit & miss - sometimes good, sometimes bad.
Location - ok but about 30 mins walk from the centre of playa de las americas where the shops are (so next time would chose something in that area, like the Mare Nostrum complex which looked v nice). There were restaurants/bars and touristy shops around the hotel though, which was good.
The beach was a 7-10 mins walk (there is a shortcut from the garden/swimming pool area but you need the room card to use it).
Worst experience at the hotel was the New Year's Eve! No proper dinner was organised but the same buffet as every evening (except they had lobster and mussels) and the dining slot was about 1 hr.
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FOR NEW YEAR'S EVE!

We stayed at the Bouganville 2nd - 9th May 2008, we arrived late at night (1am) and checked in with ease, the reception staff were friendly and pleasent. Our room was on the 8th floor (room 830) as the previous review said our room was fine and exactly the same as theirs, not tired as many have stated and one of the cleanest rooms we have ever had when abroad, cleaned every day and always immaculate. Some people commented on waiting ages for the lifts but this was something we never experienced, obviously we did have to wait sometimes longer than others mainly at meal times but never very long.

Our 2 year old son was made more than welcome throughout the hotel, so we have to disagree with the comments about it not being a family hotel and children being ignored and made to feel unwelcome, the staff working in the dining room were terrific with him always stopping to talk to him and would always rush to bring us a highchair if we hadn't already got one, also alot of the guests in the hotel spoke to him he has never had so much attention from friendly strangers! Our son especially enjoyed the childrens pool and play area which was also kept spotless and clean.

We had no problems getting a sunbed by the pool but we did tend to go to the beach in the morning rather than sitting by the pool.

Food was amazing in the hotel, we never struggled to find things we liked, the choice was excellent, and desserts were always extra yummy especially the mousse!

Outside the hotel the area was nice, although as someone else commented there is some work going on underneath by the entrance to the street through the pool areas but it wasn't a problem we didn't hear any noise and you couldn't see it from the entrance of the hotel or anywhere when you where actually in the hotel or pool area. There are plenty of little shops to browse and other restaurants to eat at. There is a little train ride with goes into the centre of Playa which we took (more for our son) which is quite nice but expensive, we wished we had just got it one way and then walked back along the beachfront.

Don't make the same mistake as we did if you plan on using the free bus to Jungle Park, don't buy your tickets at the hotel we paid 46 euros for 2 adults get a voucher and save some money vouchers were handed out everywhere airport, shops or you can print one off their website before you go, the bus stop is right outside the hotel entrance and the times it arrives can be found on their website too, we printed these to take with us in case we decided to go. Jungle park was very good lots to see and do there, but drinks are expensive, and look out for the smiling monkey by the jaguar's he made us laugh so much.

We had a brilliant week and would go back without any hesitation.
