we recommend this hotel and resort for a family holiday,however we strongly recommend that you get a safety deposit box as one of the families we went with had all their money stolen from there room.pool area excellent.the tiles around it are slippery so you
have to take extra care when walking around it.food was good quality but lacked variety and ive never eaten at a carvery where chips are served instead of roast potatoes.all inclusive option recommended as drinks,food and ice cream available all day.first choice entertainers kept the adults and children entertained during the day and evening.(could have done with more professional shows in the evening).loro park is a must for those with young children but buy it outside of the hotel as its a lot cheaper than buying it from the reps.we stayed in the actual hotel as we had paid a supplement to have a suite,but some guests were put in the nogal apartments behind the actual hotel and were not very happy with the standard of cleanliness here so make extra sure you are in the hotel.all in all it was a very good holiday for us.

Just returned from a two week holiday at Ocean Resort/Palace, myself & my partner & 8 year old son. After reading some bad reviews i went looking for the worst - but soon realised that those who complain must just be looking for something to complain about. We stayed in a superior suite room 302 - and it was big with a whirlpool bath and not a single problem with the supply of water or water pressure as i have read in other reviews ( and we were all showering between 5 & 7pm peak times) in fact water pressure was considerably powerful !!
We stayed all inclusive which i have never done before, and although later in the holiday i missed going to different restaurants, i have to say the food was excellent. All meals were buffets and you could have as much as you want & more, with a
great variety at each meal. The only people i heard compaining about the food were those people who were not good on variety - if you only like meat, potatoes & veg and are not willing to try anything else. then you may go hungry, but for those who will eat anything like us and love variety - there is plenty and very nice too !
The daytime entertainment was very good Jez, Lauren & Natalie kept the kids & adults occupied with football, rounders, killer darts/pool and water volleyball & more. In fact we barely saw our 8 year old, he made friends and was off leaving us to sunbathe. he also went in the kids club a few times though there are a couple of times we had to pay for this - €12 for bowling which took them way for 3 hours & also €12 for a party which i think was another 3 hours. But he enjoyed it & thats all that matters. Kids club reps were great and Nicky even found my son at the airport to say bye!
Evenings could be spent in the disco bar where there was bingo, quizzes and some outside entertainers( some better than others) or Jez, Natalie & Lauren would entertain and they were very good. We spent some evenings in the Irish bar - ( days when we got a little tired of kids party dances!!) it was a bit more relaxed and not so noisy !! My son would often please himself at night - he could stay with us or go & watch entertainment on his own and take part in games & disco, or be outside playng pool or air hockey with his friends. We felt safe to let him do his own thing which was great and helped him enjoy his holiday even more.
Ocean resort is great for families and the kids will not be bored, pool is great, though tiles are slippy but i didn't see any accidents you just need to take care. 10 mins walk downhill to beach & load of bars & restaurants. Free bus to waterpark takes no time at all as so close - we decided to walk back which we really enjoyed along the seafront.
If you are going to Ocean resort you will enjoy so don't worry about the bad reveiws.

Just returned from a week at ocean resort i stayed in the nogal beach apartments which belong to the ocean beach. The apartments were off a 2 to 3 star standard we stayed on the 3 floor i would advise people to not to stay on a ground floor as i have read reviews about creepy crawlies. The kiddies pool in the nogal beach was not heated also the tiles were very slippy, the bar beside the pool was ok.

The main part of the ocean beach was great the pool area was excellent the bar was also great if you go for the all inclusive in the main pool area they lay on a buffet lunch which was great. As i said the main part of the ocean beach is far better than the nogal apartments pool area but you can use both areas. The food is of a great standard the have a buffet for breakfast lunch and dinner, the kids can have drinks and ice cream all day if you go all inclusive which can save you a fortune. Also there are 2 bars in the ocean beach the disco bar were all the enterainment is ther also an irish bar which is good for a quite drink. The reps are absoultely great Jez is a legend with the kids, they have activites for adults and kids all day.

I would recommind this place for anybody it is a gem if you are not looking for the ritz ,a tip if you are going self catering i would up grade to all inclusive when you get to the hotel it works out at 18 euros a day for adults and 7.50 for children and children under 3 are free. This is far cheaper than what your travel agent would charge you.

we have just returned from a 2 week easter break at the ocean resort in tenerife. we had a great time the food was excellent the rooms were very spacious and the hotel and grounds were always clean and tidy. the entertainment was child and adult friendly however the childrens shows never started untill after 10pm which for some kids was a little late especially after an action packed day.the other dissapointment was that we booked via first choice and the brouchure stated that there was a pyjama club 6 nights a week that ran from 9pm untill 11pm but this only ran the one night the whole fornight we were there but all in all we had a great time and would reccomend it to famillies for an action packed enjoyable break.
