Excellent apartment in an ideal, and idyllic, location.
The Annexe has an excellent layout for two people with a very generous open plan kitchen/dining/living area. The bedroom is a good size too and there's a separate shower room. The kitchen has all the things you need to cook a full meal should you wish to. We managed to visit during the July 2022 heatwave, despite which the Annexe remained delightfully cool. Bridget offered to supply us with a fan on account of the temperatures but it wasn't required. The private outside space was also a welcome addition, which we made use of. Littlebury Green is within five miles of Saffron Walden which we managed to visit every day of our stay. The Trumpington Park and Ride for Cambridge is about ten miles and Ely is about 30 minutes drive away. English Heritage's Audley End House and Gardens is about four miles away, which ended up visiting twice thanks to the aforementioned heatwave sending our intended itinerary into disarray, well worth the second visit on a cooler day. If I had to pick fault it would only be that the sat-nav in our car insisted on taking us to a point on the road about 500 hundred feet in the road, despite the map showing that the actual position was still ahead of us. On driving past this point it then proceeded to take us to exactly the correct point on the road and told us our destination was on the other side of the road. First Word problems.... I'll be having stern words with Elon Must about this. In short then a delightful holiday rental close to some of our favourite places within the U.K. Highly recommended and we will be back.

Quiet elegant country retreat
This is a great property, almost completely detached from the adjoining house, and feeling very private. Everything decorated to a high standard and feeling clean and fresh. Good communications from the owners, and little touches like milk and chocolate biscuits on arrival. The village is in the middle of a network of nice country paths, so feels very away from it all - although just a few minutes from Saffron Walden. We really liked our stay and will be back.

Lovely apartment
This was a lovely apartment with good views from the living room into the countryside. The owner was very friendly and helpful and our necessary 2 week stay became a great holiday

Perfectly peaceful getaway
A wonderful apartment, clean, tidy, fully equipped and very comfortable. Location perfect for peace and relaxation. Some lovely local walks, very friendly villagers willing to have a chat whilst walking the dog. A very relaxing break, we will certainly be returning.

Lovely quiet countryside location
The location was ideal for me within easy reach of Saffron Walden. Facilities were comfortable and cosy. The hosts made it welcoming and were very helpful. Especially enjoyed the views and the numerous birds and the deer.

Perfect Hosts
Bridget soon put us at ease with her warm,friendly and helpful welcome. Budget & Jeremy's property is in an excellent location for easy access to all the surrounding picturesque villages and various interesting historical buildings and park areas. Cambridge, Duxford Imperial War Museum and London is an easy commute. There are numerous dog friendly village pubs with a variety of meals to suit all tastes. Unfortunately, we had significant rainfall for the 7 days of our stay! but this was made more than endurable due to the warm,cosy atmosphere in the annexe which was well equipped, clean and comfortable. Bridget supplied a lovely bowl of fruit, toiletries and allowed our dog to stay. He enjoyed his treats too! Littlebury Green is very peaceful and has excellent walks for for dogs and adults alike!

Beyond expectations, perfect for us!
Beautiful countryside location. There are no amenities in this village but lots on offer nearby. Saffron Walden is an historic gem with lots of independent shops, coffee shops and restaurants. Visit the lovely ladies in the Tourist Information Centre, particularly Pauline, to pick up a free guide to the historical places of interest in the town. She can give advice on good places to eat too. Google the top ten pretty villages in Essex and try to visit them all, we did. It is such a beautiful county, who knew! We will definitely visit again we loved it all. Bridget at Churchside left us many little extras, cookies, milk, basket of delicious fruit we were very impressed with the apartment, it couldn’t have been better in any way.

Beautiful annexe in idyllic spot
A beautifully presented annexe with its own private courtyard garden in the idyllic countryside bordering the Audley End estate. The annexe is comfortable and well equipped - the bowl of fruit on arrival was appreciated. Littlebury Green is close to Audley End and to Saffron Walden. There's lots to see and do in the area; the scenery is beautiful and the villages picturesque. Very pleased with my stay (visiting family in the area) and the annexe is thoroughly recommended.

Beautiful apartment in gorgeous surroundings
We were delighted with Churchside Annexe. It is such a well thought out space, beautifully decorated and well-equipped. The setting is gorgeous and we particularly enjoyed walks from the doorstep (maps provided) and really easy access to Saffron Walden which is such s pretty town. It was also very near to the the M11 for travel to London or Cambridge. We loved the little private courtyard, filled with butterflies and bees. So peaceful. Bridget was the perfect host - there if we needed her but completely unobtrusive. Really, we have nothing but praise for this fabulous place.

Pleasant and convenient 1 week stay
My wife and I had an enjoyable stay here as a base to visit friends and family in Essex. Accommodation is very clean, bed comfortable with private parking. Also has small private sunny patio with table and chairs Bridget, owner helpful throughout stay as required. Would definitely return should need arise.
