We stayed here for a week on a bed and breakfast basis and it was fantastic. The accomodation is situated on its own island in the middle of loch Gairloch, and is reached by a floating bridge.
The situation was idillic; the room was well furnished and comfortable with tea and coffee facilities (and had lots of information about local amenities); the welcome was excellent; and the breakfast kept us going for most of the day.
The families and couple staying on the self catering cottages also appeared to be having a wonderful break with good facilities.
This is an ideal place for walkers, wildlife enthusiasts, or those who just want a quiet break away (perhaps honeymooners), and is only 1 and half hours drive from inverness airport on mostly good roads (it looks further) but you do need a car to get there easily.
Due to its situation it would not be accessible for those with mobility issues.
