Thatched roof, good beer (bitter), excellent food (Really good), fine rooms and the perfect tucked away from it all location in deepest Wiltshire.

I have stayed at this pub three weekends in the last year with several friends each time. We have all enjoyed our stay and will be going back. The rooms are all ensuite and comfortable. The pub is not noisy and you can have a very relaxing time here.

There are many walks from the pub or you can visit some of the historical sites in the area including 'Old Wardour Castle' where they shot part of the film 'Robin of Sherwood' with Kevin Costner.

Highly recommended for an English Pub.

Had a fantastic stay at the Compasses Inn for one night over the recent bank holiday. The landlord met us on arrival and showed us to the lovely room. We then had a fantastic meal in the inn and the following morning went on a walk suggested by the landlord - thoroughly enjoyable and definitely recommended!
