My friend and I spent a weekend at Carnelley's and enjoyed our stay very much. We stayed in one of the twin rooms, which were a bit uninspiring but clean and good value. The twin rooms don't have their own bathroom, but we didn't mind using the outdoor shower as there was always hot water. The lodge is located in a beautiful forested spot right on Lake Naivasha, an ideal setting for a relaxing weekend. The best part of the camp in my opinion was the bar/restaurant/lounge area, which was a comfortable place to relax, have a glass of wine, and read a book after a long day of hiking. Carnelley's offers a number of options for breakfast and dinner, and I enjoyed all of the meals I had there. I do wish the prices had been a bit cheaper though. We mitigated the costs a bit by eating out at one of the local restaurants in the town near the lodge for lunch (which had excellent local dishes for under $2), and then having dinner at Carnelley's. The staff, especially the owner, were incredibly friendly and made us feel at home. I would highly recommend Carnelley's for anyone looking for a comfortable, good value lodge on Lake Naivasha.
