3 h travel with bus from airport to hotel. The staff could not speak hardly any English. You have to carry your luggage alone to the room, but the boy opens the door for you, want´s a tipp for that! The beds were full of ants, the toilet dirty. I saw the kitchen - a haven for rats and insects. the street cats are in the hotel and the kitchen (to catch the rats?). Lots of Russians, drinking vodka at 10 a.m. Only the bar staff were all very polite, forget all the others. Dirty towels and bedsheets, warm pool water and very smelly horses in front of the hotel. Millions of flies around the hotel want to kill your nerves.

We needed a cheap last minute holiday and we got a good one. We decided not to take onboard some of the reviews but to have our own experience. DO NOT BOOK YOUR TRANSFER wait until you get there its much cheaper (30 Dinars or 15 pounds ) for two if you take one of the coaches which taking other hotel guests. A bit more expensive if its a taxi. The rating of the hotel said 4 star but as season travellers we would say 3star, however it was clean, the housekeepers try to make it as comfortable as possible....at least the one we had KAMOUN RAFIKA . We were very disappointed in the food but we had to eat. they had only three different types of wine one red, white and a rose and the were just basic. Make sure u brush up on your frence as you will need it. Only a few of the hotel staff speak english so its difficult trying to explain anything to them. If traveling with english speaking kids you are in for a hard time as the animination team do not cater for english kids. The hotel was packed with german and frence guests and we found a lot of them rude.... After all thats said we had a good time in Tunisia. would not rush to go back though! What really make the holiday for us was we went on a couple of excursions one a two day trip taking in a trip to the colliseum in el jem where they filmed gladiator fantastic. and also camel riding in the sahara desert and watching the sunset, visited a oasis and visited the cave homesof the berber people in matmata. and other things. absolute must loved it. A long trip buts its a MUST. ( 180 dinars or 90 pounds each) well worth it******* We hired a private taxi and driver for (150 dinars 75 pounds) from 8am to 6pm we went to TAKROUNA, MONSTAIR, KAIROUAN the medina and SOUSSE. We had lunch in Sousse which was lovely the driver was very kind and helpful and no pressure.

Can't understand all the previous bad reviews. Returned yesterday from this hotel and had the most wonderful 2 week stay. The hotel, although absolutely luxurious, was spacious and clean, as were the rooms. The bedlinen and towels were changed regularly. The meals were fairly varied and, if you did not like the local stuff, then you could always have pizza or pasta cooked in front of you! There were varied salad items available, together with hot food of varying degrees, i.e. roast lamb and turkey on some days, other cuisines on others. The desserts were also varied - lots of cream cakes, fruit or ice cream. There was also "snacks" in between, i.e. afternoon pancakes from 5 to 6.00 p.m. Drinks were available from 10.00 a.m. to 11.00 p.m. Also, the Animation Team are the most wonderful to be seen. Marco and his "boys and girls" organised various activities during the daytime for both children and grown ups (volleyball, football, water aerobics, bowls, archery, etc etc and of an evening, they did carbarets, sketch shows, discos, etc etc and kept everyone amused throughout the entire holiday. In fact, we never had to leave the hotel for anything. The hotel has 2 swimming pools, one with water slides and the other plain. In addition, the sandy beach is across the road should you wish to venture there. There are various excursions available should you wish to see the sights, but we found ample entertainment in the hotel not to have to leave! My husband and I are no spring chickens, but found everything was amenable to all ages, whether young or old. My only complaint is that, during our 2 weeks there, we were the only English people, although that still didn't stop others being friendly to us. I really didn't want to come back home again!!!

This hotel has great facilities. 2 swimming pools (with slides), beach across the road, arcade, night entertainment, archery, mini golf, football, volleyball, water sports, kids club and the staff are very friendly. However, most of the people in the hotel are french or german. We speek arabic and english. Hardly anyone speeks english and their arabic accents are difficult to understand. Food is mostly french food with the exception of 2 days of tunisian food which was very nice.
On our first day, we were moved to a bungaloo which was not to our expectation. It was clean but very basic. the next day we were moved to a room on the second floor whcih was a lot nicer. Overall it was a very good hotel, whcih would have been better if there were more english speeking people. During our stay, we were the only english speeking guests, however if you speek german or french, you would have an amazing time.
The only bad thing is that the towels are clean but very old nd hte hotel should change them. The cleaning staff do a great job however.

My husband and I booked this hotel through Medhotels. We wanted a cheap last minute get away - more fool us for choosing this hotel!!!. It sounded quite nice on the medhotels website. When we arrived we coudl not beleive what we saw. The reception was filthy. Flies everywhere. We were handed a drink. I could not tell you what it was but it looked like dirty mushy green slime. Honestly it did! We were then treated to an argument amongst the staff. We had booked a hoel room but one member of staff tried to put us in a manky old shed (they called it a bungalow!). We could not have stayed in one of those sheds. We might not have survided the night. It really was that bad. When we arrived at our room things got worse. It was filthy and basic. There was a massive gap under the flimsy door. I did not feel sae and I am a very well travelled person. There were no lights in the corridor at all. The restaurant was appauling. We went to have a look and really could not eat a single thing despite being on an all inclusive holiday. The drinks were rubbish as well. They were served in plastic cups and the wine was awful. The only thng we ate was pizzas from the snack bar. To be fair these were wonderful. There was no entertainment unless you paid for your drinks inside the clubhouse (despite being on all inclusive). Not that you would want to enter the clubhouse in any event. It looked like hell!! Full of loud mouth chavs. Honestly!! The only other area to be at night was outside sitting at a plastic table with the flies for company or in the reception area on the filthy couches. You couldn't go anywhere else. This hotel is NOT in a tourist area whatsoever. We packed up and changed hotel after 2 nights. We had to pay extra. The rep was very unhelpful and said that nobody else had ever complained about the hotel. later on the same day we spoke to several other people who were also leaving. They were told the same thing by the rep! How could he say this when we later learned of the numerous complaints and that medhotels was ceasing to use this hotel due to them!!! Oh by the way one girl was greeted by a dead rat when she opened her wardrobe door!! Please please please do not stay here. If you do just make a note of the star rating advertised on the front of the hotel (I think it said the three stars were given in the 70s).
