We stayed at the Super 8 on a drive between San Francisco and San Diego. All we wanted was a place to sleep for the night.
There is a bowling ally next door to the property, but little else around.
The front desk clerk checked us in quickly.
The room was a nice size. It was clean and comfortable.
Breakfast was included, and was the usual mix of cereal and pastries, coffee and juice. There was also a waffle iron.
As a stop on a long drive, this hotel ticked all the boxes.

I was worried about staying here after reading the prior review, but the town was well booked and it was last minute so I really didnt have a choice. When we arrived at our room, I was pleasantly surprised to a clean acceptable room. The walls were a little bit thin, we could hear people outside walking by, but not a real problem. The walls didn't have any pictures, but we were just there to sleep. The pool/spa was acceptable, it looked like it could use a cleaning, but this is a Comfort Inn, not a Hyatt. We were there to sleep and go about our day. It ended up being a nice clean room w/ fast maid service the following day. We were not expecting a kitchenette, but had a fridge and a microwave, so that was a nice addition. They also had a complimentary breakfast each morning with a nice selection of breakfast foods including freshly made waffles. Good place to stay on a budget.
We can normally rely on a Comfort Inn to deliver a satisfactory product, unfortunately this one did not. We wanted a couple of nights to relax after much travelling. It advertised an outdoor pool and spa which we intended to use.
First problem: On our first evening we checked out the pool and spa and found they were both dirty. Debris and dirt in the bottom of the pool and a thick greasy scum around the tiles in the spa. The staff said they would both be cleaned first thing the following morning.
Second problem: Clean bed linen but pillows so heavily stained that they made the linen look dirty. After much searching, staff found replacement pillows. Also no hand towels were provided, when queried we were told there was a linen shortage but were offered additional bath mats instead.
By the middle of the following morning nothing had been done to tackle the problem of pool cleanliness.
We decided that the hotel management did not have the right attitude to cleanliness and service and so we checked out to move to another hotel in the area.
