We stayed here for 2 nights from May 29th. What a great location, above the Valentino boutique, smack bang on Rodeo Drive. Youre paying for this location though as you can probably get better value for money elsewhere. On 1st impressions its lovely, we were in room 306 and were very happy with everything when we checked in. Now, we never stay in expensive accomodation, only in mid range motor inns, otherwise we couldnt afford to travel as much as we do, so staying in this kind of establishment was a real treat ( never had valet parking before etc.) We had our 15 year old daughter with us which I infomed them of on our initial booking. At check in we were given 2 vouchers for b/fast, i asked for the 3rd one for my daughter and was informed that 2 is all we will be getting. I didnt want to push the issue, as they may have not charged us for her staying ( if they did, i couldnt have afforded it ) . We got 2 robes which were nice , I was the only person to use one anyway. The rooms are small and clean till you scratch below the surface. One doona cover had 3 buttons missing which looked tacky, the bedside table was made of chipboard and painted white and looked like it was from Ikea. The t.v had a problem that made it go static every 5 minutes or so. I dropped something near the desk and when I went down to pick it up I saw what looked like a cup of coffee had been spilt all down the wall onto the carpet. We didnt sleep at all as a Double bed is too small for my husband and i. Our daughter slept wonderfully! I was expecting 2 queen beds but the rooms wouldnt cope with that. The Valet was great, whenever he saw us coming he sprinted to get our car, he couldnt have been more helpful. I found some of the desk staff looked down their noses at us, Im sorry, when I travel I wear jeans and runners , Im not going to get dressed up just cause Im staying on Rodeo drive. We had out free breakfast on the 2nd day in the dining room which looked very lovely when we got there. Everyone else was very well dressed, I would say that this is a very popular place with business people. The brekky was very nice fresh orange juice and a muffin served to our table. My napkin was stained and the linen tablecloth had a paper overlay which was rather tacky. The milk for our coffee was off, so they promptly brought us another pot and fresh milk- which again was off! So my daughter didint miss anything by not getting breakfast. Rodeo Drive is a very intersting place, obvioulsy very clean and safe to walk around. We had tea at Nate and Als Deli around the corner ( near Starbucks which is where we got all of our coffee as they dont supply it in the rooms) and that was a step back in time and very enjoyable. This was at the end of our trip and for the previous 2 weeks we had been using a phonecard to call home as its much cheaper. We were never charged at any other motel for dialling out except this one,( we had to dial a toll free # to connect) They charged us $1 each time we dialled out, even though we were using a system that didnt cost them anything. I wouldnt stay here again .

We took two rooms at the Luxe - four nights - and found the location perfect for shopping, the service excellent (they changed our room to one with a balcony as soon as we made the request), the rooms small but with decent beds and bedding. No in-hotel exercise facilities, but free use of excellent sports club that is only a block away. Even spotted a few celebrities :-) Have stayed in better appointed hotels, but this one is a good value; would stay there again.

The Luxe Hotel is a boutique hotel with a prestigious address and the
most beautiful sheets & bed linen in the world. We were spending two weeks in NY with our kids and wanted a little luxury to end our US trip. This was the place to be. We all slept well and loved the location.

I cannot overstate the comfort of these rooms - they are a little on the small side, but who cares when you get some sleep. The first time
we stayed there we overlooked Rodeo Dr and our kids were gobsmacked by the crystal Christmas decorations hanging from the lamp posts - incredible!!! Go there - but don't expect to be able to swing a cat.

I booked through the website and followed up by calling the hotel directly. Primarily because I stayed at the Luxe in January 2007 and had which was confirmed by staff as possibly the worst room in the hotel, floor 2, corner room, queen bed. I did book last minute and initially through an assistant but still no excuse.

My past trip or 2nd trip was notably more comfortable than the first because I specified where I wanted to be and reminded reservations of my hotel room on the last trip.

Luxe is probably the best situated hotel in all of Beverly Hills and I have stayed in most (Peninsula, Beverly Hiiton, Luxe, Mosaic, Bev Wilshire) all within the past 2 years. One really gets the lay of the land by staying here. The rooms are marginal - bathrooms small, pedestal sinks and shower curtains, aluminum windows reminiscent of a 60's office building. The balconies overlooking the courtyard in the deluxe rooms help make the rooms feel more spacious. Few movie deals being made here although mini moguls, mini medical procedures and many out of country travelers mixes up the clientele.
Outdoor restaurant on Rodeo Drive is fabulous for people watching but I waited here on two occasions for over a half hour before I was acknowledged- as a result I cannot tell you about the food.
Would I stay here again? Only if I needed to be within walking distance or the price was reasonable - this is a $210 - $250.00 hotel. Remember you're paying for location.

“Rodeo Drive Quality?????”

Luxe Hotel Rodeo Drive

13 Mar 2007

"My girlfriend and I stayed four nights at Luxe Hotel Rodeo Drive in February 2007. I must say that the staff, especially the valets, provided excellent service. The location of the hotel was also excellent. We were walking distance from all the great shops and restaurants that Rodeo Drive and Beverly Hills had to offer!
Unfortunately, the room was left to be desired. It was on the small side and the mini-bar prices were unreasonable. My major complaint was that the ceilings were way to thin for my liking. Being on vacation, we like to sleep in and get good rest. But since the ceilings were thin, we could hear every footstep from the guests and housekeepers above us. The guest above us woke up between 5 am to 7 am everyday. That person would pace back and forth in the room, essentially waking us up and keeping us awake. Not being able to rest peacefully is a big negative in my opinion. Also, we could hear the vacuum quite clearly when housekeeping was doing their job.

Other minor problems:
Buttons were missing on the duvet cover on the bed. Not a big deal, but it looks bad especially for hotel on Rodeo Drive.
The sandwich we ordered from late room service was awful.
We didn't expect a 5-star meal, but it look like something that was just thrown together from the supermarket.
There was only one robe for two guests.

Other pluses:
Free wireless internet.
Free apples at the front desk.

Overall, I think I would stay there again but it would have to be on the top floor. I don't think the hotel would make their ceilings thicker on the account of one review. The fact that I wasn't able to get a full night's rest was very unfortunate.

If you're a heavy sleeper, then I'd recommend the hotel.
If not, I recommend other hotels that are in the vicinity."
