We (Family: 2 grown ups- 2 kids) stayed here for 14 nights pre-paid via our travel agency in Norway and I must say it was one of the most dissapointing stays I have had so far. I had really expected a little more form a Radisson Hotel.
After travelling for approx. 22 hours we finally arrived totally exhausted at the front desk and where greeted by the clerk who - uppon seeing our reservation stated: "hmmm...there seems to be a problem with your booking...I will have to call the manager." He then proceeded to call the manager on the phone and said something in the form of "Hi it's XX, the people who had booked for 14 nights .... they actually came - and are standing here now. Which room should we give them?" ..... Not exactly the best first impression!
We did get a room (#248) and the room was spacious - but that's about where it stops. Once we had unpacked our luggage half way, the phone rang and we received a complaint for trampeling around our room.... I was shocked! We had more or less just unpacked - how on earth should we have made such noise to receive a complaint? -We found out why, when we tried to get some sleep... We were on the second floor - so we had people above us and below us. The floors in the apartments are so thin that you can hear every footstep of the people living above you - which kept us awake many nights.
In more or less the whole hotel you will notice that anything you touch feels like it has old grittle/filth stuck to it. Door handles, doors etc. are all covered with old dirt and I often felt like I had to wash my hands after I had opened a door or touched the railing in the elevator.
The sofa in the room was old and dirty, the wall to wall carpets weren't dirty, but worn out. In general all the interior of the rooms seems to be from the 80s and in desperate need of change. The room itself had a musty smell and judging by the previous reviews on Tripadvisor it seems like the management has been made aware of this issue for some time - without taking action.
As for the staff: It seemed like everyone (except the kind lady form housekeeping) working at this hotel was not really passionate about what they are doing - resulting in a poor service level that I am not used to. For example, onde day we ordered a Hamburger and a Cheeseburger for lunch. The Hamburger was served with lettuce, tomato etc. whereas the Cheeseburger was served just with meat, cheese and the bun. - We commented on this to the waiter and he told us that Cheeseburgers always come without lettuce, tomato etc. - which was strange, since I had ordered a Cheeseburger the day before - and then it was served with "the works". -Anyway, my point is that when a customer comments that the meal is lakking something, then the waiter should make sure the customer gets the food the way he wants it - and not stand there arguing with the customer.
Breakfast: The breakfast is more or less the same every day and very little variation is made. Would be great to see some cheese and/or ham selection for breakfast. The poor variety of food made us eat breakfast at Deny's instead.
On a positive side, the rooms are (as stated) large and the location is good if you want to go to Knotts Berry Farm or Disneyland - other than that, the hotel was a total dissapointment and not even close to my normal standards. Hadn't we have booked and pre-paid this hotel in advance, it would have been a one night stay - instead of 14 nights...
