This hotel was a surprising gem in Burbank. It is not in the best area you would expect for a boutique hotel: located in a lower-middle class but safe-looking neighborhood. It is right down the street from some film studios, and is in a very central location for places like Universal Studios, Glendale, and Hollywood. If you want to go someplace nice to eat, you will have to drive, there is no convenient mass transit nearby.
The room I had was furnished in a similar style to a Four Seasons hotel room, with a long dresser and work table along one wall and a flat panel TV on top. It also had nice amenities, very luxurious robes, a frig, a nice counter for the coffee machine, good lighting, lots of dimmable lamps, and a large bathroom.
Probably the most interesting thing about the room were the little sensual decorating touches that you might associate with Hollywood or Las Vegas. The artful black & white photos on the wall, which I thought were hillsides, turned out to be people's backsides (very tastefully done). A huge mirror alongside the bed. A strange upholstered thing on the wall with a short straight rod sticking out of the top of it, which at first I thought was an odd clothes hook, and then I decided must instead be for some kind of bondage adventure.
As the Oct-2007 reviewer complained, there is only pricey valet parking available, and the parking attendants as of Jan-2008 are still not very attentive or responsive. E.g., I called ahead for the car but no one brought it out front until I showed up in the lobby. Offering to take my luggage in/out of the hotel was an afterthought.
Despite the parking problem, an excellent hotel.
