We stayed at Mount View Inn 10/17 & 10/18. From the start the staff was very helpful. I had initially booked the hot air balloon package then switched to the birthday package as it was my BF's bday while we were on vacation. So I was thankful they put up with my back and forth on our arrangements. We were in room 111 which was at the end of the hall on the first floor. Not much daylight in the room but it was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Bathroom had been remodeled and it was sparkling white. The room was a nice size with a walk in closet too! The inn had an ice bucket with a bottle of champagne in our room (for the bday thang) waiting for us. Even though there was a mess-up upon our checking in (they still had us booked for the balloon) the front desk was very kind and told us not to worry they would straighten it out. We did 80 min massages in the spa (which we were the only people there on a wed afternoon!) I had Candace do a hot stone massage and it was incredible (best I've ever had in terms of hot stone massages! I swear I think I was floating thru time).

The pool area with outdoor jacuzzi was great and we used it before dinner, again we were the only people out there so it was great! Had dinner at Bar Vino which is in/next to the hotel. Great food and great local wines! We loved that this hotel was in walking distance to other places in Calistoga. At the end of the day we did not feel like getting back into the car to go to dinner so having great dinners at Bar Vino and Brennan's (1/2 block away) was perfect.

Overall we would definitely come back to this hotel. I think we paid under $200/night (and we got 42% off 2nd nite because of BF birthday!). The rooms were clean, roomy for 2 people, staff was very nice and the whole hotel is very clean and serene-feeling. Spa was great. Oh, and the breakfasts they deliver in the morning were great! A pot of coffee, two 16oz bottles of OJ, 2 cereal bars, 2 pieces of fruit and 2 pastries (which they must get locally as they were delicious!) We were very pleased with our stay. True you can hear people in the hallway but we didn't feel this detracted from the hotel at all. Thank you Mount View

I recommend the cottages at the Mt View Inn. They are small and private, each has it's own outdoor jacouzzi. It's not the cheapest place in town but very clean and the spa personnel are the best. Great base for seeing the northern Napa valley.

A very nice little place. Walk out your front door and you have all of Calistoga in front of you. While $160 is a pricey room, for Napa Valley this is dirt cheap. And a value given the overall quality of lodging at this price.

The breakfast baskets provided were excellent. Fresh coffee, juices, upscale pastry, fruit, yum!

Bar Vino is just off the lobby, and has excellent and reasonably priced local wines. The Mount View Inn will be our first choice for future stays in Napa Valley.

My husband and I stayed here the night before and night after our wedding which was nearby. We stayed in cottage 1. I really don't think any of the hotels in Calistoga are that nice and certainly none are modern, but Mount View had a nice room with comfy bed and a private patio with jacuzzi tub. The white bathroom was sparkling clean with nice Aveda products. The complementary breakfast was nice and light, pastries, fruit and juice. The jacuzzi tub was great, we used it both nights and 1 monring while we were there. We originally assumed the patio was hidden from view and completely private, but we were wrong, it is fully visible from the rooms in the main hotel, be warned :)
Overall, a nice stay in a room with "shabby chic" decor.
