This is a lovely place,- attractive, well cared for, clean as a whistle, comfortable - and owned by someone who truly has a calling to hospitality. Darla is everything folks have remarked about in earlier postings. She was very helpful in advising us when we needed local imput - cooks extremely well - and is constantly planning for and making updates to her property. She clearly has excellent relationships with folks in the community. And she was fun, too! We could not have had a better time in this gorgeous part of the world, full of Spring as it was.

We spent two days at this wonderful inn after my brother's funeral in San Francisco. It was just what we needed. Darla, the innkeeper, is fantastic--warm, caring, helpful. Each of her recommendations for vineyards and restaurants was outstanding. Her breakfasts were delicious . . . and delivered to your room! I recommend this place with great enthusiasm and can only compliment the hostess as being the best in the business. I pray we can return one day.

We just returned from wine country and chose Foothill House B&B in Calistoga for a few day stay. This was our 2nd trip to the area, and we had not stayed here before. We weren't disappointed. Darla is a wonderful host and the room was spacious, immaculately clean and homey. We also loved the private deck outside our room.

Evenings allow for happy hour, and Darla takes advantage of this time to get to know her guests, and provide recommendations for touring the wine country. She also offered discount coupons for dinner and coupons for wineries that have free wine tasting. She knows the area well and made excellent suggestions to help map out the day.

On return in the evening, there were fresh cookies on our bed each night. Breakfast each AM was brought to our room by Darla in a large basket and it is a full breakfast - not a simple continental, but complete with coffee, juice, fruit compote, entree and breakfast meat. Her french toast is the BEST!

Having been to dozens of B&B's nationwide, we would probably rate this in our top ten. You won't be disappointed.

We discovered this B&B on trip advisor and it did not dissapoint. Charming B&B for a wine tasting weekend, girls spa weekend or romantic getaway. Room had fireplace, spa tub, and great private deck. There were always snacks and treats available (sherry, chocolate, and cookies in the room). The manager/owner is warm and friendly and clearly loves and cares for the property. She is the first to help with suggestions of places to dine and was helpful with recomendations and places where her name got you a free tasting or discount. Breakfasts were delicious and rich, although portions were relatively modest (the richness made up for it) and served in the room.
