My husband and I visited about a year ago. We booked our stay in the quail roost cottage based on the positive reviews on trip advisor. The location is good, the grounds are nice, and the owner welcoming. However, we could not understand how no one seemed to mention how outdated the decor is. If you are into 80's country/floral/quail inspired decor permiated by mauve, seafoam green and floral wallpaper, you'll love it. If your tastes run more along the lines of Pottery Barn and Crate and Barrel, and would prefer a more sophisticated /modern B & B, this is not the place for you. Although we saw pictures online, they cannot be maximized, so it is very hard to get a real idea of what the B & B looks like. The B & B has tremendous potential and if updated would be top-notch. Currently, it is probably best suited to an older crowd. The Quail Roost was roomy, but needed work. The jacuzzi tub had broken buttons, watching tv from the four poster bed is nearly impossible as one of the bed posts cuts through the center of the tv, (either the posts need to go or the tv repositioned). the food is okay but very unhealthy, very sugary, repetitive and can become monotonous if staying more than a day or two. Breakfast is served promplty at about 8:30am and guests are expected to be out by 10am to let the cleaning lady in, which can be inconvenient if you want to stay in and relax. We stayed at another B& B in Napa as well (1801 First, and they hit the nail on the head on what our dreams of a B& B should be in every way).

We planned to spend a couple of relaxing days in the NAPA county. We did some research on the web and used Tripadviosr.com to find a suitable property. After we saw the glowing reviews of this property, we decided to call the B & B directly. The phone was answered by the owner herself, Darla Anderson. After our discussion with her, we thought this was a good place to spend some time. When we reached there, the property and the service far exceeded our expectations. Darla is a perfect host. Property is maintained immaculately. Beautiful gardens, easy access, well appointed rooms makes this B & B an outstanding selection. If you are here for the first time, Darla is an encyclopedia of information regarding the things to do and wineries to visit. Rooms have absolutely everything you need, from an iron, hair dryer to Q-tips. You will find a small flask of sherry next to your bed for a night cap. A lovely breakfast is served either in your room or in the sunroom, at your choice. We stayed in the Evergreen room. We can recommend this property to any one going to stay in NAPA, without hesitation.

My fiancee and I decided to get away for the weekend and found Foothill House via the internet. We booked a room and when we arrived it was just wonderful. Not only is the landscaping great, our little cottage was very nice and homey. The complete stay was so relaxing my finacee did not want to leave. We got served breakfast in our room and the little gathering in the "sunroom" for wine and cheese was a great way to meet new friends. All in all, a fantastic getaway!
