On our roadtrip through california, this was the best motel we had up to now. The previous motels all belonged to motel chains and were nothing special (thus no review on them)

The Bluebird is family-owned and there are only positive things I can say about:
- 100% clean and nice rooms
- friendly staff
- high quality towels
- free wireless internet, coffee and cake
- nice lobby
- nice and calm area

Only stayed one night, but would definetly stay longer

1950s era motel with extras. Lovely gardens, reception area with fireplace. Free coffee and cake. Very helpful staff. Super clean, comfortable rooms. Walking distance to shops and and Cambria's great restaurants Cambria has free trolley that will take you throughout town and to the beach. Note that motel does not have phones in rooms and cell service is spotty or non-existant (depending upon the carrier). Don't buy gas in Cambria -- more expensive (50 cents a gallon more) than anyplace else.

My wife and myself stopped at the Bluebird Inn for 2 nights mid august and i must say it was most enjoyable. We stopped in a creekside suite and it had all you needed.
The kingsize bed was great,the fireplace on a chilly morning was welcomed,and the verandah overlooked the very preatty gardens. The walk to Cambria township was lovely and the restraunts are great. Brambles Diner was terrific if you like greek food like me. It is a short drive to Herst Castle and moonstone beach.
I would reccomend the Bluebird Inn to anyone who likes real homey type comfort and great location( much more keenly priced than those on moonstone beach) and would stop again fore sure.

We stayed for one night on our way up the coast. We stayed in a single room with a queen bed, and it was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the cake served in the morning, and the staff was friendly. The gardens at the back were nice, but there isn't much of a creek. The only issue was a noise issue. We could hear a couple enjoying themselves in a room nearby --the walls seemed pretty thin. We were also facing a lot and across that an alleyway where early morning garbage collectors made a bit of noise. But, all in all, it was a great option for a one-night stay for under $100.
