I have stayed at the property for the AT&T previously but this years booking has been as disaster. I was left 3 seperate messages informing me of 3 seperate rate increases due to the AT&T. Apparently they forgot to drastically increase the rates for this weekend when they took my $300 deposit months ago. After much complaining they agreed to a lower rate. They said they could get more money from someone else. Now when I asked to cancel Sat. night they suddenly have a 30 day cancellation policy. They just forgot to send that to me with my booking. What a load of crap! I guess the owner gets to make things up as he goes along.

Got a gift certificate for this place for our wedding. Stayed for a couple days for our "pre-honeymoon". Was terrible. The receptionist didn't even acknowledge us when we arrived. Her computer work was more important than our presence and she wasn't at all friendly. Our room was dated, had an early 80's feel, and the linens were rough. Our second morning, we were rudely awaken at 7:30 in the morning by employees talking loudly outside our door. Sounded like they were on their break. One of the worst lodging experiences of my life. Don't Go!!!

“Very cute Inn”

I thought our room was lovely. We had a small private courtyard which was wonderful for our dog. I enjoyed sitting on the patio in the evening and reading . The plants, flowers, and fountain were beautiful. There were some problems though, the toilet stopped flushing, so my husband fixed it. The shower door would not stay closed, my husband fixed that as well. The fireplace smoked horribly, and the dance across the steet for teenagers was very noisy. Fortunately, the dance ended at 10:00 p.m. and did not continue through the night. I liked the light breakfast of yogurt, fruit, and a muffin. My husband did not, he found his pastry to be stale. When you arrive at the inn they have you fill out a form indicating what you would like for breakfast from their small list, but it appears that after the first day they give you whatever they have available. The location was fairly convenient to the shops, but it was not convenient to the beach. The inn did allow our dog to stay. I thought it was a very cute place, but there were some problems. Overall, we still enjoyed our stay.

A nice quiet getaway in Carmel. Some rooms have private patios which are ideal for the very nice morning breakfast the inn provides. The rooms are very large with a sitting area and an eating area though the bathroom is small. The inn accepts pets (though the pet fee is too high, $50) and the best pet friendly restaurant in town, The Forge in the Forest, is located about 2 blocks away.

I was driving up Route 1 towards Monterey and decided to stop for the night in Carmel. I gave them a call from my car (found their number in my AAA guide) and the manager was responsive and helpful right away.

It's a cute little place, basic but with nice flowers and details that made it great for a one-night stay. I was on my own, so the room I had was small but perfect. It had it's own entrance on street level, but it was a residential side-street, so I felt completely secure. A bathtub to soak in, clean room, wood-burning fireplace (it was a crisp rainy night), decent bed, a video library to choose a movie from, nice breakfast platter brought to my room, etc. The street the hotel is on is tucked away from the busier roads in Carmel. It's about a 15 minute walk to the beach, and is about 2-3 blocks from the main drag for shopping in Carmel.
