This was a great little find, offering superb value for money. Great loaction, just off Carmels main street, also easy to find if your coming from the 17mile drive. The room was stunning, large, tastefully designed and laid out with a huge, comfortable bed and fireplace. As an extra touch a light breakfast (muffin and drinks) is delievered to your door in the morning. If your staying in Carmel this place should not be missed, would thoroughly recommend.

We stayed there for 3 nights this month, and were absolutely delighted with our accommodations in every respect. Indeed the manager (who happended to know we were celebrating our wedding anniversary) delivered us a complimentery bottle of champagne! An absolutely tremdous place. Great price too!
We stayed here for one night during a trip down the California coast.
The hotel is in the perfect location in the heart of the Carmel shopping district and a five minute walk to the beach.
The room was large, well appointed and clean, and was exceptional value for money.

Just returned from a trip up the California coast, and while we were in Carmel we stayed one night at the Lobos Lodge. We must have had a suite, as we paid $200/night...quite a bit more than the avg $147/night listed on Trip Advisor. But it was our first time in Carmel, and all of the reviews for the Lobos sounded good, so we took it. The room was quite large witha queen bed, a pullout sofa bed and a twin bed/futon type of thing (there were three of us). The room also had a fire place, which would have been great in winter, but not much use in June. No room a/c, so we left the window open during the afternoon/evening hours to ventilate, and the very high ceilings didn't seem to allow the room to heat up too much during the night (we didn't leave the window open at night because our room was right on the corner of the main street).
The room delivered muffins (1 each...a little dry), juice and coffee is a nice touch, but you have to book a delivery time. We are somewhat late risers and by the time we checked in the latest muffin delivery was 9am.
Nice sitting area, good parking, nice bathroom and bath products.
The location...fantastic. Right on the main street for doing all of tourist store browsing. also, about a six block walk to beach, all down hill....but all up hill coming back. But there are a number of other hotels in the same general area, so it's not like this place has the best spot locked up. So many restaurants close by that you'll want to do some research to pick one.
All in all a good hotel, but maybe the Lobos Lodge should move into the 21st century? No online booking? What's up with that? And no in-room internet access...c'mon. They even charge fifty cents per LOCAL call. Surely at $200/night you can cough up a couple of local phone calls for free? Fortunately my lap top has wireless internet and the reception was good, other wise I would have been really pissed off.
Yeah, I'd recommend the Lobos, but it wasn't so great that I won't try one of the other downtown establishments the next time we go to Carmel.
PS. Set aside a few hours to go visit/hike through Point Lobos park (south of town).
