We arrived in Carmel with no accommodation booked but had picked several that 'we liked the sound of from trip advisor reviews' and had decided to look at before making a definite decision. The Adobe was the third hotel we looked at and we looked no further. The receptionist was so friendly and helpful when we walked into the office. She offered to show us a couple of rooms to begin with - we chose the first one with a distant ocean view - we didn't bother to look at the second room but said yes straight away to the first. The room was very clean, spacious, the bed so comfy, it had a sofa in front of the fire and a desk. The sink set into a large worktop was in the dressing area which led into the bathroom. We had only intended to stop one night but ended up staying for 4! Breakfast was delivered to our room at the time we had requested. We had fresh fruit, orange juice, cereal and muffins and it was delicious. We sat by the small pool in the morning for an hour or two before the sun moved round and off the patio area. The location was perfect for us - just a few minutes walk from the main street - but restaurants and shops are plentiful and some very close to the hotel. Underground parking in included in the room price. We felt very happy, relaxed and safe at the Adobe. Would not hesitate to recommend.
