Cobblestone in was lovely, of course Carmel was beautiful. The room in its self was romantic. A fireplace, a tub for two, but the piece of resistance was a romantic dinner for two in the room. A beautiful table was set up by "Romantic Room Designs" with rose pettals, lace, candle light, roses, champange, etc. "Romantic Room Designs" came into the room ahead of our arrival time and set up the room. When my husband and I check in (this was a surprise for my husband) he walked in the room and was blown away. The dinner its self was ordered though "Door Bell Dining" who delivers from restaurants all around the area. I would recomend "Romantic Room Designs" for all kinds of occasions. Check out their site romanticroomdesigns.com. Two thumbs up for our stay in Carmel

“OK on their Winter Special”

Cobblestone Inn

10 Feb 2008

Our first visit to this Inn was OK since we were staying there on their Winter Special wherein we paid $170 for the first night and received the second night free. If the Special were not available on a future visit, we would return to the Normandy Inn where we have stayed many times over the past 35 years. Their rooms are larger than those at the Cobblestone for a similar price with equal amenities (including breakfast). The bathrooms at the Normandy Inn are three times the size of the Cobblestone.
Our Queen room was just as pictured on the web site, small but comfortable. The decor is dated as was the woodwork, the TV about 13", the heat lacking requiring the constant use of the gas fireplace while in the room (except when sleeping). I used our laptop connecting to their free WiFi which had a fairly strong signal. There were only two electrical outlets in the room, one of which was behind the bed. I had to unplug the clock to get power for the laptop. Not convenient.
There was some noise from an adjoining unit but it didn't last long. Many guests were visiting to attend the AT&T Golf Tournement at Pebble Beach so morning breakfast was very busy. We usually ate after 9AM so the crowd was gone. There was adequate breakfast food available both days of our stay. The evening wine and appetizers was a nice touch but not well attended.
The staff was attentive and pleasant, especially when checking in.

“Is it really a Four Sister's Inn?”

Lots of pros and cons during our stay at the Cobblestone Inn. You can decide which are important to you.

Pro's:
1. The location is close to downtown so everything is within walking distance.
2. The price per night is lower than most Four Sister's Inns.
3. I was charged more for having a whirlpool in my room only to find out a storm blew out all othe whirlpool motors. There was no effort to adjust my bill, however after finding the maintenance guy he was able to put a new motor in my tub that same day!
4. The Four Sisters touches are here, Teddy bears, evening turn down, Celebration Packages, robes, breakfast and evening happy hours.
5. Nice romantic fireplace.

Con's
1. It's almost impossible to find a place to park. There are only 4 spots on their property and two of them are very difficult to park in. Be prepared to walk a few blocks and leave your car abandoned blocks away from the Inn.
2. The free wine is boxed wine and the dolma they serve during happy hour is disgusting. The clam chowder was terrible. You can't go wrong with cheese and crackers, they need to stick with that.
3. The biggest problem was the thin walls! When in hotels I usually run the A/C to block out the noise but they don't have one. I heard everything from upstairs and next door. The noise didn't stop until after 1 AM.
4. No A/C or working heater. The windows are singled pane and the old style you have to lift, some are broken and don't open correctly. None have screens so anything can get in.
5. The Flat screen TV's are up high and they are the type you have to look at straight on to see the picture, however you can't see them straight on since they are placed high on the top shelf.
6. Don't waste the money on a whirlpool tub, these are small tubs and barely fits one person let alone two.
7. The Four Sisters Inn's we have visited always have games in the lobby to play, such as checkers, chess or even a deck of cards. Nothing like this is available at this Inn, so bring your own.
8. The evening happy hour was always late getting started.

You can decide for yourself if the pros out weigh the cons. For me I won't return and I will now look more carefully when looking for a place to stay, even if it is a Four Sisters Inn.

“Good b&b for a night”

The best thing about this b&b is the location. It is right in the centre of town so you are really close to all the shops and restaurants.
The room was nice but the bathroom was really tiny.
This is the kind of place where you will stay just for a night and it would be great but I don't think I will enjoy more than that.
Wine and cheese in the afternoon was nice and the breakfast is good as well.

From the moment we arrived, it was lovely. The Inn is so welcoming in so many ways. The room was quite adequate for our 3 night stay. The daily breakfast was filling and tasty, as well as the afternoon/evening wine and snacks. I loved having a paper at my door every morning! It was within walking distance of everything and we enjoyed our stay. We were sad to leave. I would definitely stay at Cobblestone Inn again!
