Lisa is a wonderful hostess. We were greeted warmly. On Thursday evening, as every evening, we had appetizers and unique wines. Thursday was Valentine's Day, our anniversary, and she served Italian Red Champaign. The breakfasts were excellent. At night Cookies and milk were delivered to the room. We saved the milk for in room coffee the next morning, before going down to breakfast. The rooms, each one an individual, was done to the best. We really enjoyed our stay, didn't feel like guests, but as friends of the innkeeper.

The friendly staff welcomed us upon our arrival. Check-in was smooth and quick. Our room was decorated very nicely and was very clean. The staff was very helpful and made our stay a memorable one. The breakfast was delicious and filling. We would stay there again.

This was our second stay at Cayucos Sunset Inn - this time we stayed in the Sunset Room, their premier room - and no wonder ... huge suite ... I would guess at least 1000 square feet - a TV and DVD player in each room, two-person Jacuzzi with plenty of jets, a shower that features a rain-shower head and jets coming out the sides, a fireplace in each suite, a very large balcony, three skylights, and many other amenities. The many windows allow sunlight in that really brightens the room. Rain fell the second night of our two-night stay - we could hear the drops hitting the windows and the sky lights ... with a fire going in the fireplace - you get the idea ... very cozy atmosphere. I highly recommend this place ... they truly believe in the little things ... wine, cheese, and crackers every evening, milk and cookies delivered to your door every evening, turn-down service if you wish, a morning newspaper, a delicious breakfast, and a staff that believes that customer service is job one. It shows – it is a challenge to be a 4-star bed and breakfast ... is another challenge to keep it that way. First class in every way !! We are already looking forward to our next stay !!

We planned a trip to Cayucos for 2 nights to celebrate my wife's birthday. Driving from San Jose the weather was like a hurricane, so when we finally arrived at the Inn, we were really ready to relax. Our room, the Paradiso, was beautiful (perfect bed) and had 2 fireplaces - it also had a huge Jacuzzi tub. The "Happy Hour" in the dining room was great, especially the wine that was served. The restaurant "Hoppe's" was recommended and even though the waiter was bordering on rude, the food more than made up for it . When we returned, we found fresh baked cookies in our room - perfect ending to the evening. Lisa served us a delicious breakfast the next morning and we spent the time reading the paper and talking to her about vacations we'd both been on recently. We took off to go wine tasting and had a blast (don't miss Opolo Winery - it is now our favorite). All in all, a wonderful experience - we will definitely return to the Inn.

We found this place completely by accident. Decided to just drive up the coast on a holiday weekend [Veteran's Day] without making reservations. As expected, many places had no vacancies. As it started getting dark, we noticed a turnoff for Cayucos and we went for it. Found this place thru the AAA book, called and got lucky. All the previous reviews echo our feelings about the place. It's excellent. We stayed in the Paradiso room but i imagine all the rooms are equally spacious, well-appointed, wonderful. Add to that the delicous breakfast, the wine and cheese in the early evening, the large DVD library... all included in the nightly rate make this a very reasonably priced place to stay. Cayucos is a great spot from which to explore the Central California/Big Sur Coastline, if you're coming from LA or SoCal. We planned on staying 1 night but ended up staying 2.
