“Very nice, spacious hotel”

Stayed here June 9-13 for a (teacher) conference- paid 179 per night. As with most hotel chains, the higher up on the hotel "ladder", the less you will get included. (Internet, breakfast, etc.) We ate breakfast at the restaurant twice, but generally elected to run across the street to McDonald's (we are only reimbursed lodging expenses, and not fully at that!). Room (2 queens) was ample for 2, and would have fit 4 nicely. Clean, large bathroom, and two sinks!

Hotel has a Starbucks in lobby, and tons of meeting space. Hotel does charge for parking in their garage (why?). They also contract with a local taxi firm that has those London black cabs for a fixed rate per trip. South Coast Plaza (large mall) just down the street. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Had a drink at happy hour (still $6), but friendly service. There is also an airline check-in kiosk where you can check-in for your flight and print boarding passes (free!). The Hilton split our bill correctly and easily (for reimbursement). Although I didn't have a choice as to where we would stay, I was impressed with the Hilton Costa Mesa.

“Disappointed in this Hilton”

Hilton Costa Mesa

I really felt nickeled and dimed in this hotel.
The fact that they charge you to use their business center's internet service seems ridiculous to me. I have stayed at other hotels with same rating whereby they did not charge you for internet access or fax machine. Plus the charge is too high considering many business travelers will be staying at this hotel near airport.
Also, I agree that Starbucks closes to early! If you want a soda, you have to go to the bar area. For such a large hotel they need a cafe that serves soda, juice, bagel type food til much later in the day.
PARKING- Again, I was surprised to find out they want to charge Guests for overnight parking! How ridiculous! And, to make matters worse, it seemed there was only one way to get in hotel from parking garage so you had to hike to and from your car.
If I had known they were going to charge for any extras, I would have booked elsewhere. Many hotels even have free happy hour from 5-7 p.m. and free buffet style breakfast. Of course, with this hotel nothing was free!
The staff was average...not too impressed there either. The bartender was nice.
Hotel seemed clean.
One perk was fresh water with lemon in lobby area - delicious.
I have never taken the time to write a review but I was so overall unimpressed that I wanted to share my experience with those thinking of staying at this hotel. I would go with another 3.5 star hotel!

“solid 3+ stars”

Paid a reasonable price on a travel website and was not disappointed. Pros: Clean rooms, bed and pillows and towels were solid, staff attentive and courteous, parking safe ($16 self-park), pool and workout room excellent. Cons: a little dated, but clean, lots of rooms so a little walk from the elevator to our room.

“Loved the Hilton, great access to Orange County”

Hilton Costa Mesa

I had stayed here for 5 days and the hotel went beyond my expectations.
The front desk was extremely friendly and helpful with any inquiries about the area.
We had trouble with our Wi-Fi, and had used their business centre. It's a pre-pay card system to access their internet, and after figuring out that we were short changed on our card, they not only comped our Wi-Fi for our whole stay, but they also comped our parking as well. This was a totally unexpected perk.
The rooms were extremely clean and well kept, though we didn't eat at the hotel, it's very close to an upscale mall with lots of dining options. Be sure to check out the Orange County Market.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to family & friends. I would stay here again next time I'm in the L.A. area.

“A Culture Clash -- Old Orange County vs. New Hotwire Clients”

There are at least fifteen 4 and 5 star hotels in Orange County, but what sets this property apart from the others is it's location (practically on the I-405) and its blend of conference facilities with guest rooms.

This is a huge, complicated infrastructure with 80 guests rooms per floor--a ballroom, and a dozen or so meeting and conference spaces--and even special handicap-accessible rooms with entrances to the outside on the first floor. The six days I was here, I noticed some guests were here for the two trade shows held on the premises; some were return clients here for business; some were leisure guests here on vacation, and a few were one-night guests who were driving the San Diego Freeway a block away. There was even a sports team from Iowa here a few days. The sight of guests mixing in the lobby -- some coming from the hotel's restaurant or bar and others with plastic bags from nearby fast-food outlets -- all trying to avoid eye contact -- was amusing.

The hotel's sales department has been doing a good job filling the place, but some of the gentry don't seem comfortable with the new diversity. Me? I was a Hotwire client. If someone else had offered me a better price, then I would be there instead of here. That's because these folks are not exactly warm and cuddly.

I did have a nice room (see my attached photos).
