If you can find it, this is an excellent hotel. PLEASE be sure to get good directions, since, despite its location close to I80, it can be a nightmare to find.
Once you're inside, however, it's a very nice place to stay -- if you have a car. (Public transit in the area is pretty much non-existant.) The rooms are very clean and nice -- two room suites with a sofa-bed and full kitchen in the 'living room', and a separate bedroom. (Be aware that the bathroom is off the bedroom, so anyone sleeping in the living room will have to traipse through to get to it. ) If you don't want to cook or eat out, you can order food from dozens of local restaurants to be sent in. (For a fee.) You can borrow (for free) DVDs, and there's a nice outdoor pool, and dozens of restaurants in easy walking distance.

The breakfast was disappointing. While it was extremely abundant, nothing seemed to have much taste. (And if you're not a coffee drinker, the choices for 'tea' are "Lipton" or a dozen fancy herbal teas. Good quality regular tea isn't a choice.)

The Woodfin Suites is a nice enough hotel. It's similar to a Marriott Residence Inn with a kitchenette, small sofa, living room and bedroom(s) and large bathroom. The staff was friendly and the room seemed relatively clean. But while it's centrally located to the Bay Area, it's not actually close to anything unless you've rented a car. (The BART station is more than 2 miles away and not walkable. The shuttle will go there, but it stops early in the evening.) It is next to the Amtrak station, but that's not really meant for local travel, i.e., getting to San Francisco proper. It's a short drive to Oakland airport, about a $40 cab ride with tip. For the money, it would make more sense to stay somewhere closer to your actual destination.

Wonderful place to stay if you're visiting the Bay Area. The rooms are suites and set up for business use or families. The bedroom can be shut off from the living area if you have someone trying to sleep. 2 TV's. Free video rentals (selection not great.) Very good full free breakfast-healthy or otherwise food.
Great rooms, fully equipped kitchen. Ask for Bay View if possible and higher up the better view. Super comfortable beds.
Nice ambiance. Helpful front desk. Free shuttle to Bart which is great for getting easily to San Francisco. Hotel is close to the freeway onramp to S.F. There is a food court and Borders, etc. just across the street and another larger shopping mall fairly close. Bus stops right outside the hotel. We used the Bart and bus to visit S.F.
Would highly recommend this hotel over others in the area. Pets are allowed also.

This was our first time traveling with 2 dogs, a 4 y/o bassett and a 4 y/o terrier and it was a great success due to the hotel. There were at least a dozen or more guests in the hotel with pets. The dogs were given a nice dog pillow, water and food bowls, a placemat and a welcome letter.

The rooms were great, with a nice size living room and kitchenette, a small balcony off the living room which my bassett loved. The bedroom with 2 beds was a bit small but nicely furnished and the bathroom was good size. The suite was exceptionally clean despite being a pet-friendly hotel. Cool artwork on the walls

The breakfast buffet was fine with all the food nicely displayed on linen covered tables.

Only small drawback for people with pets. There really is nowhere to walk your dog for a quick bathroom break. Our plan all along was to take the dogs to the fabulous 17 acre dog park at Pt. Isabel in Richmond but you still needed to walk the dogs before getting there. There was a small patch of grass across the street from the hotel but not much more. This definately was not enough of a drawback to keep me from enjoying this hotel again. So, if you are looking for a great hotel experience for your pet, this is the place. Also highly recommended for us people too.

“Great Place to Stay”

Woodfin Suites Hotel-San Francisco Bay Bridge

Stayed for a week and was very pleased with the staff and location. The Emery-Go-Round stop was right outside the door. The hotel also offers a free shuttle within a 3 mile radius. Rooms were super clean and maintained well. Noise was almost non-existent. Balcony in your room was a plus. We paid $190.00 a night by talking to them directly. Still pricey but not $260.00.
