We stayed at this (somewhat new) hotel for 5 days during August 2004 for a family visit to Disneyland. The hotel has a nice looking lobby area with a huge, beautiful looking water fountain feature. Front desk staff nice, pretty professional. We stayed in the Family Suite, (all of the rooms at this hotel are suites; our particular suite had a seperate bedroom with french doors blocking you from the living room area, and in the living room area there was a couch (well, sofabed), that our 2 childeren liked that they slept in. Our suite was nice and quiet--did not hear much noise from any of the other hotel guests. The rooms are pretty soundproof. Suite had two nice size TV's--one in the living room area, and one in the bedroom. Hotel has a nice outdoor pool, (but we didn't use it), too busy in Disneyland, of course!
The only somewhat negative thing I can say about my experience was the bathroom sink location situation. Our suite had only one sink/vanity area. It's not that we needed 2 sinks, it was just the LOCATION of the sink that was not good. (If I had known about the sink location beforehand, I would not have stayed in room; I'm somewhat picky when it comes to things like this! but some of you might think this type of thing isn't that much of an issue--if you don't care about your "bedroom privacy", that is! Anyhow, the location of the sink/vanity area is located right next to the bedroom, there was NO DOOR blocking the sink/vanity area, from where our bed was located in our bedroom! So, whenever someone had to use the sink for anything, you could see them--and they could see you--(whoever was sleeping in the bed in the bedroom). (no privacy). This created somewhat of a disturbance to me and my husband whenever the kids needed to use the sink for anything--we could see them right there from our bed, and they could see us..(no privacy). HOWEVER, the sink/vanity area was very nice, had a beautiful marble countertop around the sink. (and, yes--the toilet and shower/tub area DOES have a seperate entrance from the living room area and from the bedroom area, along with a locking door for privacy, of course). -So- if you want a room that has a seperate sink/vanity area with doors for privacy from the BEDROOM that you adults stay in, don't request the type of room we stayed in! Aside from my sink issue here, everything else about our suite and this hotel was, all in all, a great experience. I will reccomend it to anyone. This hotel is definately worth staying at if you are not thrifty, and don't want to stay in a dump. The calibur of this hotel is far beyond dump--very nice. No $49.95 treatment here--not your typical Motel 6, or La Quinta Inn. Very nice looking hotel and rooms, excellent service, excellent choices of continental, and well worth your money.
This hotel also has an 'above average' continental breakfast--nice hot scrambled eggs feature. Buffet style continental, with many choices. There was a hotel employee standing by the continental breakfast food, asking you to show your room keycard making sure you were a guest of the hotel and not just some shmuck off the street, taking any of the food.
Oh, one other thing I need to mention here that I'm sure most of you are asking, how far is this hotel located from Disneyland?--not far, only about a 5 minute cab ride. (NOTE! This hotel does NOT have a free shuttle service to Disneyland), but the city trolley DOES stop at this hotel and delivers you there, for a very minimal fee. But we bought a package deal (thorugh our travel agent), and got free passes for the trolley service to Disneyland. You might want to ask for those passes--if you're booking your Disney trip through a travel agent and staying at this hotel...
