We picked up the link to Hotel Charlotte from Lonely Planet and were delighted that the experience of staying there exceeded even their high recommendation. The evening meal in the restaurant was great - the steak a rare (literally) treat,and breakfast filled up our large teenagers before setting off for Yosemite. The hotel gave us great directions on points of interest and helped us plan an excellent day in the park. We would happily stay at Hotel Charlotte again.

Found the Hotel Charlotte here on TA and have to agree with everyone! We arrived in the evening after getting soaked at Hetch Hetchy's Wapama Falls, looking like drowned rats lol. Lynn just smiled and welcomed us home! Amazingly personable owners who were happy to answer any questions.
Hotel is right on Main street in Groveland (blink and you'll miss it!) We stayed in a 2 room setup with our kids, bathroom in the middle. Rooms are small but exactly what you'd expect from a building constructed in the 1920's. Cool bathtub/shower.
We had dinner at a Mexican restaurant right next door. Excellent food. The Hotel also has a restaurant that looked good. If you want a drink the Iron Door Saloon is just up the street.

When my wife and I stayed at The Hotel Charlotte during our March trip to California, you and your staff really treated us kindly. You even had our dinner brought up to our room, so I could watch my Michigan State Spartans play March Madness basketball. You went above and beyond to make our stay very special, and we thank you.

To top off our stay, you suggested we spend our last day, checking out the nearby State Park with the Giant Sequoias...what a great suggestion it was. We toured the place for over an hour, looking at many of the giant trees and reading the self-guided tour information. We got some great shots of these magnificent wonders.

On a trip from the UK, we found the hotel on the recommendation of the Iron Door Saloon across the road and were wonderfully surprised. Wonderful welcome, pleasant rooms, good food .... and we were there on games night. Highly recommended.
